Update. I made it but forgot the melted butter in the microwave. Will try to cook correctly next time. Still not horrible. 6.5/10
Ate tonight at a friends house. Everything was mighty fine, they even made gravy from scratch/drippings. Then they busted out StoveTop stuffing. I wanted to cry.
Wife made these and they were a fucking delight https://altonbrown.com/recipes/holiday-dressing-muffins/

Sausage stuffing Mash pot Acorn squash Green bean casserole Sourdough rolls What were working with tomorrow
Making this tomorrow and letting the rest of the fam cook TG. I’ll be saving my efforts for Christmas dinner. https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1017817-cranberry-curd-tart?smid=ck-recipe-iOS-share
Nor mine. I’m assuming it’s a southern thing. Much better sides to fill up on that are Thanksgiving staples.
Made some cornbread Monday night for the dressing. It’s nice and stale today. About to throw it in with everything else for the dressing and let it get all nice and familiar with each other before the oven tomorrow.
Dressing Green beans Greens Mac and cheese Sweet potatoes Mashed potatoes Gravy Ham The darkest wettest piece of turkey on the bird Idk if anyone else if bringing anything else
Thumbing your nose at a normal side in mac and cheese when you know a whole host of southerners will deep fry oreos, toss it in mayo, and call it a salad is incredible
Going to the gfs for thanksgiving for the first time and despite being a really culinarily talented family, they serve cucumbers and red onions in vinegar as a side on thanksgiving. Apparently a German thing, wtf
Dressing Green bean casserole Sausage bourbon baked beans Funeral potatoes Cranberries Yeast rolls Baked apples Gallon of gravy
A korean restaurant I go to does a smashed cucumber salad with a chili crunch vinaigrette that is awesome.
I do enjoy when this time comes around every year and people act like cream of mushroom soup is this diabolical gruel as though they’re above a buttery roux thinned by milk and chicken stock. I know you love a good roux, yes, you reading this.
Im no snob; I'm a man of the people. Even the little people such as yourself. I love a good roux and make them regularly. Campbell's cream of mushroom soup is not the same thing. It is, in fact, a diabolical gruel.
Not barbecue but a summer dinner with a steak, baked potato (with butter/sour cream/shredded cheese, maybe bacon bits, s&p,), dinner roll, cucumber salad. Elite meal.
I will say that the one time I’ve made cream of mushroom from scratch my reaction was like the first time I did so with alfredo sauce, it was so easy I wondered why people buy that stuff canned/off the shelf.
are we just ignoring the taste of aluminum can here? Accented by the taste of aluminum can with the beans?
First time I made alfredo, my first thought was, "this is the best thing I've ever eaten", followed by, "If I make this very often, I will die soon'.
I'm sticking to my keto diet for the holiday, making a zucchini casserole I like and skipping all the other sides tomorrow.
