MIL makes this artichoke green bean casserole that tastes like stuffed artichokes. it's delightful. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/77240/green-bean-artichoke-casserole/
Desserts and dinner roles are from my local bakery. My sister is bringing the ham. My other sister is making The Mac N Cheese. The rest we are making.
Doing a brunch with one of my BIL’s tomorrow because they can’t make dinner. Now stealing the idea to put stuffing in the waffle iron.
Somehow my sister got slotted into the "salad" spot for what people bring and her effort is embarrassing pretty much every year
should just go simple greens with a vingarette of you have to a salad no one wants a full on wedge, or Cobb, or anything which will fill them up and take away from eating gluttonous sides
Lots of people of Germanic heritage in the Mid-Atlantic do this and/or sauerkraut, too. We always had the latter; former is more of a summer dish, IMO, unless they're pickled. Both sides of my family would do this despite being only about 50% German on both sides.
Just had some leftover sausage stuffing with gravy, crystal hot sauce, and spicy chili crisp. Highly recommended.
Inexplicably, my mil's corn always messes me up. I always forget to ask what's in it, and forget to avoid it. I finally (after like two decades) tracked it down last year by elimination, but I'm too dumb to remember not to eat it. GAS GIANT. Also, no deviled eggs this year :(
