Rosicky goal vs Spurs is up there with my favorites. Early in the game when I'm nervous af and just rips 1 into the top net
I enjoyed reading the comments seeing how many said one of them and said no question/discussion but it was never the same person
There's one clear wrong answer; it ain't Eduardo. Everyone saying him is saying he would have made the difference in 2008, but that same argument applies to Rosicky.
One comment hit it on the head for me. For 3 of them, the top of their ‘peak’ was theoretically achievable. And there were always glimpses of that potential... but the little Mozart actually played at that level, we saw his best(unfortunate for US soccer fans) and it was glorious. The other 3 never had a long term run of health and top play
for me it’s Wilshere. but that’s assuming he cleaned up his act off the pitch as well. would have been amazing to see him reach his potential at Arsenal.
The advantage of Wilshere is that if he had reached his potential, we could have sold him for $3 billion to Chelsea or City. But I think Diaby was the better talent.
Rosicky for me because he was always good when healthy Diaby had a very high ceiling Wilshere had the 1 year but don't know. His playing style was always going to get him hurt. Eduardo wasn't all that great even before his injury, just an insane finisher. Pires' ACL was a big 1 too. Invincibles could have extended their run a few more years if that never happened. Even if Vieira still left bc of Fabregas, Cesc with Pires and Henry would have been enough to build around.
Yeah I think it’s Jack. Would have brought something sorely missing from those teams that might have put us over the top. Got me thinking on another version of this question, if you could fix the work ethic or some other mental issue of one player who would it be? Adebayor, Arshavin, and Bendtner come to mind...
I'm so bored and don't feel like entering any thread on politics, give me your 18 man lineup with max 1 player from any country Szczesny Lauren Toure O'Leary Cole Gilberto Ramsey Cazorla(Cesc was probably better but Santi has my heart) Bergkamp PEA Henry Alexis Ozil Rosicky Hleb Vermaelen Kanu Bob Wilson
That's a top lineup. It's hard not to say add Vieira or Pires, but with Henry, understandable. Though do you go Cole over Sol Campbell on that back line?
Wanted to make an French Arsenal 11 but don’t think we’ve had a French GK. Sagna-Koz-Garde-Clichy Vieira - Petit - Pires Wiltord-Anelka-Henry god I’m bored
There's only been 29 French Arsenal players, had some massive flops but that success rate is insane. Nasri, Giroud, Grimandi, Flamini, Diaby, Diarra, Coquelin, Laca, Guendouzi. Aliadiere somewhere in between the kinda good group and the massive flops, he wasn't terrible but such a massive downgrade when he played.
What if the invincibles had depth, what if Bergkamp would fly, was Wenger that good a manager or were we just that loaded in the first half of his tenure, these are things I'm thinking about way too often in quarantine
Don’t know if anyone on here was anti-Cesc, but it’d be interesting to hear if it changes their opinion
Knowing Hector he is probably growing the most rad tail you will ever see. Also, listened to Cesc this morning. I'd really love his voice for my GPS. Hector would be my close second followed by Ozil. Ozil upon every arrival.
Sagna didn’t take kindly to Cesc saying only Nasri and Van Persie were his level at the end and I think he’s got a point. Cesc was hurt a lot and was not very consistent at all in his later years. Sagna also doesn’t seem anything like the type Cesc described talking about going out after a loss. Still love Cesc though and the interview was great.
Yeah I kinda took that bit as two names off the top of his head vs everyone else was shit. Sagna was the best RB in the league for years
sagna winning headers near the midfield touchline off szczesny goal kicks might be the highest success rate of any designed play in all of sports
