I thought for sure she was going to dump him. That would interesting twist to see them unable to woo a target or lose them.
This season continues to be really slow/wheel spinny for me. I have no doubt the final season will be excellent but right now it just seems like they want to get there.
There's something weird to me about Gabriel just suddenly calling it quits like that. I also enjoyed the exchange between him and Phillip when Phil asked him if Stan's girl was one of them. He acted so appalled at the question and told Phillip to chill but there's still something weird there
Think the writers wanted to show how denying Phillip the chance to meet his son affected him. Not sure exactly what was going on with Phillip's facial expressions at the end of the show when Gabriel talked about Paige.
I can see that having something to do with it. I'm looking forward to having his son come back into the fold and what that causes
It reminds me a lot of Breaking Bad's season 5.1 before season 5.2 aired a year later. Just needs to get to the last batch of episodes. Hopefully it ramps up over the last couple of episodes.
I was catching up the last couple days and could not believe we were 8 episodes in already. It's not bad tv imo, since the characters and actors are so great, but...damn. Agree with you, this feels set-up-y.
Totally had forgot about the teenage girl Philip was using for info. In their line of work I almost think it would be a relief to have Henry away in a safe place. Paige is almost in college. Would give them less to worry about at home.
Season is boring as fuck. Their kids suck I don't give a fuck about their family bullshit I want to see them doing spy stuff. The Russian guy bores me as well. There's not one intriguing storyline going right now.
Elizabeth is a stone cold assassin. Agree though on the season. Cant believe there are two episodes left. Most of the Russian storyline is boring. I am sure they are going to get a connection between the states but its taking forever to get there.
I agree. I dont hate the show now but this season is definitely the worst and I feel didn't need 9 episodes to where they are at this point.

While other seasons seemed to have that slow burn quality that makes for good TV, this season has really been pretty slow and uneventful. It has really seemed to be a chore for me to watch.
Really expected something big to happen over the last episode or two and just... nothing. Almost wonder if the creators only wanted to do one more season and were asked to do two for some reason and had to just fill time. But the show doesn't really have good enough ratings to justify that so I just don't know.
Easily my least favorite season of the show. Still enjoyed being in the world. And the finale had some tense moments - specifically the training montage, when I thought something even worse might happen, as well as Paige leaving the church thing, thought she might get mugged. Plus Stan's gf seeming very Russian-y. Otherwise, this season and finale felt like a 13-episode prologue to the final season. At least throw us a bone with someone discovering their identities. Or getting close to doing so. Like I said, happy to be in the world for more episodes but I'm also happy to be done with this season so we can get to the final one.
My hope is that the last season doesn't have a slow burn. Hopefully we get a tense action packed season to end it. There are a lot of loose ends to tie up.

It's really hard to make more than one season of TV that's as good as this show, much less 5. This one was a bit of a stinker. Hopefully the final season will rebound to what we're used to.
Maybe they can use that hole they were digging at the end of the premier and bury these 13 episodes in it?
Was actually thinking Henry was going to maybe try and commit suicide once Philip told him he couldn't go. Felt like they maybe hinted at it the last episode with Paige and then Pascha's parents not thinking of what he wants. Definitely think Stan's lady isn't genuine.
That thought definitely crossed my mind when we kept getting scenes with everyone but Henry after Philip yelled at him saying he couldn't go. They were so concerned about this Russian kid they were working on possibly committing suicide that they didn't see their own son's coming. But ultimately Henry will probably end up being very important in the end game for the show. Seems closer to an FBI agent than his own parents, extremely intelligent and interested in the FBI and has no idea who his parents really are.
That season obviously wasn't very good but still enjoy the acting. Phillip/Elizabeth/Stan just kill it, weirdly care about them and hope the conclusion is good to all of them.
Weak season. Slow. Disjointed. I'm not sure where any of the story lines in Russia are going. Paige could be developed into a really complex and interesting character. But it hasn't happened.
I didn't mind this season at all....it was definitely slower but as Gunners pointed out the acting is top notch. I think next season is going to be wild.
Whole season was just one big "wait, that's it??" I said it after a bunch of episodes. Said it after the season as a whole. Hopefully it'll play better once we get to the final season, but... yeah
Just caught up they just lost the formula. The beauty of the show to me was holy fuck they're about to get caught feeling. Even thought it was only episode 2, in any season and I knew it wasn't happening, it was just so suspenseful you got caught up in it. Spy shit fuckers, give it to us.
