2022 5* PF Kelel Ware of NLR announcing August 9th. Absolutely our #1 priority in this class, and I feel pretty pretty good about him. A 6’11 big with his range, handles, athleticism don’t come around much in the state. Land him and it just might help with his teammate and 5* SG Nick Smith edit: apparently things are NOT good with Ware and we should not expect to land him. Really sucks
BREAKING NEWS out of Clarksville: Chuck Barrett spoke at Rotary yesterday, he’s from here, and said the SEC could go to 20 teams in a year or two
Chuck Barrett has fewer sources than Randy Rainwater, who has fewer sources than Dudley Dawson, who has zero sources.
But I think we all need to understand, its not fall camp for Arkansas until one of our OL goes down with a season ending injury. It happens almost every year and the only way to deal with it is to continue to build depth. I think with the fact that Luke Jones is finally going to be able to play and the addition of T Crawford will really help with depth. Add to this the fact we have had a full season of strength training to get bigger, will help immensely. I mean wasn't Stromburg expected to walk on somewhere before we reached out and offered him? I think the key to winning in this league really comes down to both OL and DL line play. Luckily Pittman has immediately improved the OL, but I still am not sure how much improvement we have on the DL, especially losing Marshall. Look at what Jimbo has done at A&M with his lines. I am hopeful we can continue to build in these areas.
Stromberg was a Tulsa commit we flipped. His dad was a badass in college and Ricky had mono or something his Sr year and went down to like 245lbs or something and got back up to 265-270 by the end of the year, but his size kept a lot of the bigger schools off him late.
I just want us to win games we should. We basically did that last year, only leaving a couple games out there that should have been Wins.
I am curious how much KJs legs and the fact our OL is closer to the size we need to compete in this league; will change our offense. Just having the option to run will mean defenses have one more component to worry about. KJs size is another factor that will hopefully help with his durability when getting tackled by SEC LBs and DL. I am expecting the defense will be much improved with additional depth on the DL and more depth at DB allowing us to play some man vs dropping 8 and letting Hudson Clark get picked on every play. I think Auburn, LSU, Texas, and Mizzou are all winnable games for us and those will be a great tool to identify how much this team has improved this year.
Fully Expect us to upset one big one and also expect us to "Arkansas" at least one game this year and blow it. I don't think we beat LSU at LSU. I would replace them with A&M as A&M lost most of their OL and breaking in a new QB. We always play them tough and I hope we snap the streak this year. I could also see us blowing the Miss State game. This series hasn't been too kind to us the past decade and this is a revenge game for them. Mizzou is also one that I really want to win but as much as Drink is a weird fucker, he seems to be a good coach and is blowing the doors off recruiting right now. This "rivalry" could very well end up being another win for MZ as they seem to have our number since the DMAC days. AU, we better fucking win, damn it. and Texas I think we have a very real shot at making it ugly. Yea Yea Yea, they are Texas... but Arkansas usually plays them really well and has gotten the best of Texass since we left for the SEC. I don't expect this to be any different. 4 wins minimum is very likely but I could see and would be very happy with 6 wins at this point. Rice - W Texas - Toss Up Georgia Southern - W A&M - Toss Up at GA - L at OM - L AU - Toss Up UAPB - W MS - Toss Up at LSU - L at Bama - L Mizz - Toss Up
Levi Draper, the LB transfer we got from Oklahoma, is retiring from football after injuring his shoulder the day we moved him to TE.
Let’s hope Jacquayln Crawford doesn’t suck too like what I’m hearing about several of the freshman so far in fall camp (AJ Green and Ketron Jackson)

Not sure if it was posted but apparently Hunter joined the Men’s Basketball team for their boxing workout a few weeks ago. Impressive.
