Probably wouldn't be that hard to sleuth, but he knows the Hogs and he knows basketball coaching. Here are some of his paraphrased thoughts on Muss: He knows basketball. Really knows basketball. One of the better minds out in basketball coaching period. Complete workaholic. Hard for assistants to work for him because he demands the kind of work he puts in and he's obsessed. So don't expect the same assistants to be here in 5 years or something, but he has enough connections from his NBA and now college days to consistently have a top flight staff even with turnover. Has to get the players (obvious), but he believes he will. He will demand hard work from the guys and they will be prepared. There was no doubt here. He will get the students and such engaged much more and hopefully the whole fanbase. He's a "rah rah" kind of guy. Recalled a story where Muss took his shirt off and ran around the court after a big win at Nevada. I said "so you think he burns hot and will be out of here in a few years?" and he said "oh no, he can't find a better job than this one" and I said "What about the NBA? I guess it would be good for us if he was good enough to get hired away by the NBA though" and he said "he doesn't want to coach in that league. No one does. You don't coach in that league." He really believed this is a last stop type job for Muss and that if he's successful, we may be in for a decade-plus ride on the Muss Bus. And this is coming from a guy who has had lots of jobs lol
Also, heard something on drive by about an obviously blown PI call during the Aggie game apparently, our intended receiver was tackled before the ball got there and there wasn't a flag 1. Is it true? My lifelong fandom suggest it could be true 2. Anybody got a link to the video? I can't find any
1. Yes it is true. 2. Not sure would have to look at game film. It was on a drive we got a false start on afterwards I remember that.
Yes, it's true. It was so obvious that both the announcers and the rules guy couldn't believe it wasn't called. It didn't cost us the game, because we got a first down a few plays later further down the field from where the no call happened.
Here is a pretty solid example on the inconsistencies seen in the officiating during the game. Holding was happening all over the field during the game. I have the game recorded and I will try and capture it and turn it into a gif later today.
Either way I'm on the Muss Buss, He's done his research and knows hog fans. Hell he's admitted it, Arkansas, UNLV backj in the day were who he followed.
No he can’t come back from 4-20 (0-16) If they do bring him back there will be banners flying and maybe 30,000 at games My uncle had a 24 person suite at Razorback stadium for the last 15 years and hadn’t missed a game and gave it up this season and has been watching the games at home and said it was the best decision he’s ever made
well with that pull, he’s gotta have some sort of a connection to know what HY is thinking right now. No way I’m in his shoes and haven’t told Chad something about him being on extremely thin ice...
I'm sure the Chad knows hes on thin ice. The SEC is just a different animal from operating than an SMU or ACC school. Hell Bert came in from the B1G and couldn't cut it.
Should be noted that Chad only got SMU to 7 wins. Sonny Dykes has them 6-0 in year 1. I dont think it's a matter of the SEC being a different animal. The issue is that Dykes is a bad head coach regardless of level
What a disaster Not that it means much, but DVone McClure is transferring too. He started the season as nickel then moved to 3rd on the depth chart. He’s like 27 though so who cares Losing Bush is a dick punch. Bitch move to quit on your team mid way through the season though
I mean, it is a dick move, but do you really think the guys who haven’t declared or aren’t sure what they want to do haven’t already quit playing anyways??? I will bet we see the same thing last year, first half they played somewhat competitive but after they get blown out a couple games, they just show up in pads and go through the motions to go home... If HY has any sense in him, he will fire Chad at the end of the season and go get a real fucking coach. This is a fucking disaster... Between Bret, Chad, and Jeff, I don’t think anyone could have done a better job at destroying this program.
It makes zero sense to transfer right now and only makes you look like a bitch for quitting on your team mid way through the season. Get some film and make yourself some options after the season. You’re gonna have to sit out next year
Not disagreeing with you there, what I’m saying is this team has a lot of quit in them and I expect to see it the rest of the season.
Rumbling on Hawgsports is that Trey Knox May be next to enter the transfer portal... bertwing are you hearing anything? Will be a massive blow if true. We already lack playmakers on Offense as it is...
