Meh - bert said all that shit about Nance too, and he's been awesome for Mizzou. He runs some really nice routes, when 'all he could do was run deep routes" Also a really good blocker. Especially for a smaller guy.
My point was, at the end of the day, even a good coach can't make someone try hard. It's going to take the player making a decision to put forth the effort. Stepp can't make Knox go out there and run a good hard route. This applies to every player at every school.
Agreed but i think it is part of the coaches responsibility to help motivate the kid to do better. Sure, its ultimately up to the kid, but with how this staff has performed, you can point the finger at how the staff is doing at coaching and motivating these kids to want to do better... im sure all this losing and being told how shitty we are in the media is playing very nicely with our players also. Kids who are performing tend to do better when they are doing good and vice versa. You know, that why try when we are just going to lose mentality... which out team has been plagued with for the past 5 years...
You're not wrong. From everything I've heard Stepp is one of the good ones and seems to get a lot out of his guys. I don't have any real idea on how Knox is, but I was just trying to say that a coach can really only make so much happen, the rest is on the players once they get out there.
Arkansas football buys out Kent State scheduled contract. Will now open 2020 season vs Nevada Wolfpack. wholehogsports.com/news/2...
Stepp is a good coach A lot of our kids are just out there going through the motions. All four of our losses are by one possession. You can’t coach a kids effort
if we had a coach with a pulse we are likely 5-1 and heading into a night game with auburn with a wild atmosphere
We should be 6-0. It really sucks our players and staff can’t get shit figured out and continue to blow it in the 4th quarter
With a competent coaching staff there is no way we lose to SJSU or Kentucky I think we would’ve beaten one of ole miss and Aggies I’m 90% confident both bert and nutt would’ve been 5-1 and both of them were not great
really? he's terrible, Bert was terrible and blew a ton of 4th q games and nutt always lost a couple of wtf games to go with his 1 every two year upsets
Chad went 2-4 against an FCS school Two lower level mountain west schools The worst ole miss team in a decade A 6-6 Aggie team A Kentucky team playing a receiver at QB
I’m not spinning anything I agree we’re terrible. Was pointing out that we were in position to win all 4 games and found different ways to shit ourselves in each one... whether that be coaching or dumbassery from our players. I’m not trying to be like Chad and say “we’re close”... just pointing out the scores. Bad teams and coaching staffs find ways to lose close games.
We’ve already lost to a shitty small Ohio school in the last ~5 years or so. We need to spread the love to other areas of the country
Man first I can’t get tickets to heckle Garth Brooks at the dive bar a mile from my work and now I can’t get any Arky love. What’s next God?
Nah. A good coach can leverage the transfer market to replace talent with players who can compete. We just need to upgrade coaching at every single coaching position. It’s not going to get any better until we get some coaches who know what the fuck they are doing.
Fuck it. I'll say it. We don't belong in the SEC we celebrated a game 50 years ago. THAT WE FUCKING LOST!
You're welcome and that was my point we have no rivals, we've 4 games in two years (so not just a conference issue), no athlete wants to be on a loser team, only if they have no other optons. So the "three" stars aren't really or have issues and the last two staffs can't coach them up
Pppffftttt I'd have to actually give a shit w actual expectations of being good I don't and we're not
I bet someone in rivals last season that chad would never win an SEC game at Arkansas and was roasted by everyone. Thats looking like free money
I think Chad sealed his fate last night. Rumor is, his last big supporter, ole Jerry, wasn’t too happy that JSJ didn’t get any playing time last night even when the game was out of hand. if this is true, there isn’t any way HY can keep him. The statistical amount of money that will be lost in season tickets is equates way more than his buyout in the grand scheme of things.
I don’t think Jerry pushed for chad I think chad really wanted the job and the interim ad and board were left scrambling when gus told us to fuck off letting interim ad fire bert in the field with no plan in place other than to throw a bunch of money at malzahn looks like a shitty plan in hindsight. If only people could have seen that coming why do people think Jerry gave a fuck about the smu coach?
