its kinda wild yall won’t go get Lashlee especially with some familiar faces on staff not doing a terrible job
Lashlee is a Shiloh Christian/Malzahn product. Those folks aren’t thought of kindly by about 95% of NWA. And Lashlee has a good thing going with a bunch of rich religious weirdos (just like Shiloh) funding his program. It’ll be a mistake when he leaves, when he does.
I think he’s a good fit for SMU too, but it just seems like whatever issues he has with your people can be solved with money and I assume yall have more. There aren’t many great coaches out there, so if you can get someone to make you competitive, I don’t see why not. You think he’d have a hard time getting NIL support over something that probably happened 10+ years ago?
Other than being an alum what makes Arkansas a more desirable job than SMU? Obviously that can’t be ignored, but he’s got it much easier in the ACC and SMU will match anything. Kinda seems like he has it made until a bigger program comes calling.
I’m just guessing here. In this era I think financial support outweighs any advantage playing in a weaker conference has, and I assumed Arkansas has a higher ceiling there
Arkansas has a higher ceiling? In football? I’m not the one holding any grudges, but none of those Springdale/Shiloh/Gus guys have really ever wanted to or been welcomed back. It’s just a weird deal and with a lot of butthurt on both sides… and we have enough drama as it is. We don’t have near the financial support in football as we do in basketball/baseball. Well see if the rumors of the Hunt family getting naming rights to the stadium is true and them starting to give a fuck about football like they did with bball when Muss was here since Tyson seems like he’s got bball covered.
Rumors I'm getting is Tyson liked landing Cal and wants to fucking hire CUM. Being an out of touch billionaire means never saying you're sorry
Honestly, it’s smart of y’all to prioritize NIL in those sports over football. As a fan, I know it sucks but y’all have legitimate contenders there, so you might as well feed them.
I would trade a ten win season in football if it meant never winning another game in any Arkansas sport ever again
I’d like to be consistently around 8-4 in football and maybe we’ll get lucky every now and then and not find ways to lose every close game and get us a 10 win season every ~5-8 years. Nothing crazy, but something to look forward to. The last 13 years has been pretty miserable and the disconnect with our fanbase and our athletic department is widening.
This and they were anti NIL for as long as possible. It’s clear that yurachek hasn’t experienced a year of toxic razorback fans because it’s coming if they retain Pittman and his life is going to be miserable.
My only encouragement was how he handled Anderson. Most assumed he would be back but HY made the move to part ways. I will be shocked if it actually happens but his track record leans towards him dumping dead weight. Going to be real interesting to see how the Bowl game ticket sales do. I doubt we even sell out our allotment.
Unfortunately I think HY thinks 6-6 is a good football season for Arkansas. He has to find $22m in the budget for next year and it’s easier to just kick the can down the road for him. He’s also already floating his name for other jobs. If he makes the wrong hire after tit it will cost him his job so just wanna year, cash another $1m in salary and then reevaluate
It was pretty obvious yesterday that BP was calling a lot of the shots on the field. Wouldn’t be surprised if Pit goes the “JoePa” route and just lets the coordinators do everything next year and he just stays on the sideline. I actually would rather him stay up in the box… and let the real coaches do thier job.
you are responding to one of the dumbest slaw posters and our dear leader bertwing doesn’t set the bar that high
I can't decide if i love or hate the guy on Twitter tagging Hunter Yurachek in every single announcement of another college firing their coach or an assistant.
The amount I emotionally invest in sports over the past 5 years is really waning, but they need to fire that fat-titted fuck boy and get someone who isn’t a giant caricature of “aw shucks”.
A lot of people keep pointing at NIL and blaming the lack of wins on that. In my mind the largest contributor to our failures this year were the consistent turnovers, special teams mistakes (leading to more turnovers or poor field position), and penalties. None of those issues are going to be fixed with NIL. Those are 100% coaching issues. The current coaches have shown zero evidence of being capable of addressing any of the items listed. Continuing to invest in the same people responsible is not shocking but the most Arkansas thing I can imagine. The last four games I was never excited. He’ll even winning the Tennessee game I wasn’t fired up. I was simply shocked and surprised we hadn’t found a way to lose that game. Next year will be more of the same. I can’t wait for the sports media to start hyping the team up.
That seems like a lot. Apparently out of 134 teams, averaging 2.4 fumbles a game gets us the most of any team in the nation for 2024.
We lost 13 fumbles. Tied at next to last with the Cocks. Only Oklahoma and La Tech were worse with 14. Our mistakes and bad reads by Green cost us a couple of games.
