Yeah, with Ayton and Doncic as the clear top 2 I think it's unlikely we land there. I'm imagining a fall to 5 and just hope one whatever guy from the next tier that we like is still there. At that spot I like Bamba or Porter. Only plz nos for me are Trae Young or Marvin Bagley. Even Bagley I could be talked in to, but I've discussed my issues with him ITT before. Looking at a couple sites now, it really feels like Jaren Jackson is solidifying at #3. I know almost nothing about him.
Yeah I agree that he's capable of being a good player in the NBA and probably is a good value based on how frontcourt heavy the top picks are this year, but I would be upset if the Hawks took him at 4.
I’m just incredibly angry Bud fucked us winning games against playoff teams at the end of the year and got on the first bus out of town. Fuck him
Nah, my personal opinion is Brad Stevens is such a good coach that so many teams are going to overpay for Boston players either in free agency or by trade. I think we'll see what happened with Isaiah Thomas with a lot of other players (though maybe not as extreme because of his injury). That, plus I think it's too early in a rebuild to be going after "hot" free agents.
this Bobby Marks guy implied on Woj's pod, well he didnt name the team but its hard to deduce another team that won games at the top of the lottery, that Hawks ownership was pissed at Bud and actually had a meeting with him about winning games. Wouldnt be surprised if thats the real reason, not the Schlenk relationship, that forced Bud out. And supposedly Schlenk does not like Bagley.
I mean, fucking this. It pisses me off that Atlanta isn't high on the list of possible destinations for NBA free agents.
Yea. Thinking about Milwaukee and Philadelphia growing thru the draft really makes me think it's the only way to have success. Gotta have guys you aren't paying "mkt value" under contract.
Starting like JJJ's potential. Elite D and hits his free throws Shown potential to put the ball on the floor and shoot the 3 Very Young
I agree, if we had fallen back to 5-6 I would have had him at the top of my list. Picking at 3, though, the phantom back injury concerns me. We can (hopefully) get more of a sure thing. I'm liking what I'm seeing about Jaren Jackson now. I'm not liking all the mocks that have us taking Bagley.
Givony and Schmitz (Former DraftExpress guys at ESPN now), on Woj's most recent pod, are saying Bagley if Doncic and Ayton are gone. "You see with Atlanta, Bagley is really their guy." Gulp.
