Buddy? Shot 3 times, guy is luck he isn't dead. Bold move dealing drugs across the street from a retired FBI/Police officer.
Ha yeah that's him. I wasn't great friends with him but my buddies bought from him and his roommate in college. Bold move indeed
Apparently he tours or some of his roommates tour with some of those Wide Spread type bands. They were gone a while back and someone kicked in his back door trying to find drugs, around this time he would also have a decent amount of people stop by for 5 minutes. I was told "he was talked to" by the retired cop/FBI agent across the street from him. Apparently he quieted down for a bit, but I guess not enough. Couple wives on the street are a bit freaked by seeing their neighbor chased down the street, then walked back to his house at gun point. They were wrestling when the cops showed up. Dude with the gun surrendered then tried to claim self defense.
Where Eagles Dare Accusations of cocaine theft lead to shooting in Kirkwood Atlanta Police said that a dispute between two acquaintances about an alleged theft of cocaine led to a shooting in Kirkwood over the weekend. The incident occurred on Saturday, Dec. 3 in Kirkwood. A police officer responded to the call just before 3 a.m. A man, identified as Torrance Holyfield by police, allegedly went up to to the officer with his hands raised saying, “I’m the one who shot him!” The officer asked about the location of the gun and Holyfield allegedly indicated it was in a book bag on the ground. The officer then spoke to the victim who was on the ground in the driveway of his home. The victim had been shot three times, once in the back, once in his leg and once in his foot. The officer placed Holyfield in handcuffs and put him in the back of his patrol car. The officer said it looked as if the shooting had occurred in two different locations: down the street and in the victim’s front yard. The victim allegedly told police that he saw Holyfield at a bar earlier in the evening and they spoke to each other. The report says the two men are associates. He had a friend drive him home and he noticed a man sitting on the front porch. The victim had his friend drop him off down the street from his house. He said Holyfield had been sitting on his porch and walked into the street to confront him. According to the report, Holyfield accused the victim of stealing cocaine from him and demanded money or the drugs. The victim said he didn’t steal anything and didn’t have money. Holyfield allegedly pulled out his gun and demanded money. The victim said he pulled out his I.D. but had nothing else in his pockets. Holyfield allegedly shot the victim in the foot. The victim hopped to the front yard of his home, with Holyfield allegedly yelling at him all the way. The victim’s roommate came outside and the victim asked him to call 911. When the roommate went back in the house, the victim and Holyfield began fighting, the police report says. The victim went behind Holyfield and began choking him. Holyfield then shot him two more times, in the back and in the leg. The victim was transported to Atlanta Medical. According to police, Holyfield was allegedly screaming in the back of the patrol car. He allegedly told police he was robbed and assaulted and only shot the victim in self defense. He allegedly told police that if he were committing a robbery, he would’ve fled the scene. Holyfield allegedly told police that the victim saw him at the bar and said he bought them both drinks. He said the victim was trying to rob him in order to buy drugs. Holyfield was charged with aggravated assault, the report says.
Why should I move because some white shit head is dealing cocaine? Hell, when I moved in the house across from me was selling Crack and heroine daily. I'll stay put and let code enforcement and piece deal with their shit. Now, about 4 years ago when we were having 4 or 5 doors kicked in daily I was getting a bit on edge, but that shit stopped quickly. unfortunately a 19 y/o student ROTC kid was killed in the process. Think having 2 barking 90# dogs helped dissuade any potential burglars Isolated targeted incidents don't phase me. It's the random shit that you gotta watch out for.
Yes Waldo. The hoods changed a bit. There are 675,000 houses on my street. Crack dealers are now gone. Murders happen in nearly every neighborhood. Break ins happen often in the Highlands. There are Murders and car Jack's in the nicest parts of midtown. City living breh
Murders don't happen in nearly every neighborhood. Keep telling yourself that. I get the break ins. That's everywhere, but the volume you stated is what would make me move immediately . You said as much earlier. Do you man.

http://www.atlantaintownpaper.com/2...ises-reveals-proposed-west-peachtree-project/ West Ptree filling in nicely
Would probably be good from an urban planning standpoint to turn each of Spring and W Peachtree into two-way, four-lane streets with a turn lane. But I'm not certain what impact that would have on traffic.
I thought the one-way street flow would be annoying when I moved to West Peachtree, but ive actually gotten used to it and can use it to my advantage. Juniper needs some upgrading and im p sure that is already in the works. Spring is a nightmare and only going to get worse with the new developments. It could use a bold vision.
Our work garage is on W Peachtree and I need to get to Spring to get home. It can be a disaster sometimes to try and cross 5 lanes of traffic at rush hour. I'm just thinking more in terms of pedestrian friendliness and resulting viability of retail/restaurant storefronts. Walking on those streets now is not pleasant and no one does it... Feels like a highway.
Yea I think I read that they got a big chunk of the costs via federal grant. Bike Lane from 14th to Ponce and then make one of the lanes permanent on-street parking. The parking is the biggest pain in the ass to me. They either needed to get rid of it all together or make one lane full-time parking spots. Its annoying not knowing when/where a car was parked and disrupted the flow of traffic on Juniper.

I was on the way to Nashville for a work meeting when my coworker riding with me got the text. We knew where we were going to be having dinner last night right then.
State is selling Kirkwood’s Pullman Yard For years developers have been eager for a chance to develop the Pratt-Pullman Yard in Kirkwood, but until recently the Georgia Building Authority hadn’t put it up for sale. But the building finally went on the market on Dec. 7. The minimum bid for the 27 acre site is $5.6 million, plus an additional $14,285 for the due diligence costs. Sealed bids are due by April 4, 2017. According to the bid documents, The Pratt-Pullman Yard – originally farmland purchased in 1904 by the Pratt Engineering Company for a sugar and fertilizer processing plant – was used for munitions manufacturing during World War I. It was purchased in 1922 by the Pullman Passenger Rail Company and used as a rail car service and repair facility. Southern Iron and Equipment Company used it from 1955 to the 1970’s. The facility was closed after the federal court order split up the Pullman Passenger Rail Company. Georgia Power used the facility for its fleet of Trackless Trolleys, a name for electric buses. The Georgia Building Authority bought the property in 1990. It was briefly used as part of the New Georgia Railroad, a dinner train running from Underground Atlanta to Stone Mountain. In recent years, its become a popular filming location. There have been proposals to redevelop the site, including plans to turn it into town homes and turn it into multi-purpose fields, office space and greenhouse space.
