I think I had The Varsity less than 5 times including catered events the 6 years I lived in Atlanta.
Lived here over 2 years and have yet to hit the Varsity.
The Varsity is garbage
Varsity isn’t garbage it just falls victim to weird expectations. It’s a place that sells burgers and hot dogs and gives you a cool experience but for some reason people expect fine cuisine.
It was very basic stuff which makes sense why so many ATLiens nostalgia over it so hard. I could see myself loving it as a kid then growing up and having an evergreen fondness for it
Except the food isn't good
Couldn't agree more. For a fast food place it's really good.
2 chili dogs , onion rings , fries , frosted orange , and a coke ... curb service .
bon ton is solid go there all the time drinks and food never disappoint. Just put chilli on everything and get onion rings at the Varsity and you can't go wrong
It’s fine. You’re being a diva.
You should try Birmingham
Fox Brother's. Antico. H&F burger. Bocado.
Just ate at No. 246 tonight. Spot on as usual.
Heirloom BBQ, Barcelona, Goin Coastal and gun show would be solid additions to your list
Rumor is there could be news today of a corporate expansion in Atlanta.
EDIT: probably tomorrow
Best mediterranean/gyro/schwarma in ATL are both in Buckhead...
1. Pita Grille off Roswell and Wieuca -- most authentic Israeli food I've had here in the US&A. It's delicious, but overpriced for the type of establishment it is.
2. Kebob Land -- Attached to Red Pepper near Piedmont and Peachtree. I've been in there multiple times and seen flight crews from that part of the world. They literally took a cab all the way up to Buckhead to eat there.
Disclaimer: I've never had that style food on Buford Hwy.
Not sure if Nick's falls into the category you're going for there but... Nick's.
It's part of a chain, but there is a Halal Guys off Buford which is not bad.
My guess is that it’s a Seattle based company whose name doesn’t start with the letter A. Amirite?
Nice, Amazon comin
I got a gyro recently by my office in midtown at Cafe Agora. It was pretty good.
Tannour grill on 14th isn't a bad lunch option sometimes.
Eat there all the time as well. Not as good as Nicks but always delivers.
Depending on the rotating menu the Consulate in midtown is solid for mediterranean cuisine.
Mediterranea in Grant Park too.
Aladdin's at Dunwoody Place is my go-to, and they opened a second location in Emory Village about a year ago. I know the Owner and his family well, good people and good food. I usually stick to the chicken or beef shawarma, and the fattoush and falafel are solid too.
I was told not amazon.
Tell me more about this. Sounds interesting
Moving to Midtown?
Microsoft is moving out of Sanctuary Park in Alpharetta finally?
I would assume Midtown.
Waiting on this announcement..................
You didn't respond to my guess though.
I don’t even know, but if the story doesn’t break today it should leak anyway.
You don't know who it is?
Either way, before it leaks, I'll take my guess. I was referring to a coffee company whose name starts with a
A few of yall seem to have inside scoop on developments. What type jobs do yall have to get this info?
Nope, but that would be cool. He alluded to a tech company though.
Construction/Development believe it or not
hmmmm. that makes sense.
Tbh I just read things. No involved in anyway
Maybe it's different than whatever the announcement is today, but I did hear something about them and corporate offices in Atlanta. It could be as small as they were considering adding a regional office here, but even then we could be between multiple locations. I have no idea beyond just hearing their name in association with corporate offices in Atlanta.
I’m down for as many Seattle/ATL connections as possible.
Shaky knees after shows are out. I’ll be spending that weekend at a Variety Playhouse for War on Drugs and Fleet Foxes the next night.
I was kind of underwhelmed. I’ll probably go to black angels at least.
Also, what I heard had no timeframe associated. I asked someone who has friends at the chamber who it could possibly be and basically copy and pasted them your message, that was their guess fwiw.
Is Kingsmen Software the expansion? If so, not what I was expecting
Since the story didn't come out today, he said it was Google and that the article should come out tomorrow morning.
That would be huge.
This article is interesting then.
