Where will be a good place to watch Champions League final? Going with a Real fan so probably not going to go to the LFC bar
Some of y'all need to checkout Hopstix. I've only seen it very busy once, it's too good of a brewpub to not be busy on a Saturday afternoon.
Is it too early to move to Pittsburgh in south ATL? There are some nice, upgraded houses that are very affordable.
For that price and the way the inside looks, I figured the outside had to be pretty bad. I’ll do a drive by or two and see what it’s like.
Drive fast. But for all those savings, you could install a great security system, get a scary dog, and install bullet proof glass on your car.
I have an abandoned house next door and moved in with a crack house across the street. Pittsburgh is rough af It'll be interesting how quickly that is consumed by the gentrification west and east moving in
What a quick google tells me "We Have Beaten Down A NEGRO NEARLY EVERY WEEK In The Pittsburgh Section Of Atlanta That We Rule By Intimidation But Never Got Press Attention Until We Beat Down A GAY BLACK MALE"
Dog was one of my first thoughts, as well as a security system. I also would feel weird to possibly be viewed as a problem, since I’m “gentrifying” the area even though Im poor af.
I know it's not quite that extreme, but where I'm living now in West End, my roommate and I are very much the minority, and haven't had any issues yet. I do my fair share of waving and they wave back.
Yea I'm a 5 minute walk from both. Lean Draft House is funny...like a little white man safe haven inside a very black neighborhood.
It's the perfect time, you're actually a year or two late for the best deals. Neighborhoods have vastly improved so they've taken the lumps for you and you won't be the only one pioneering down there. There is still a long way to go but if you're close to new developments like Beltline, shops, restaurants, etc. you're going to appreciate faster than the roughest edges. Intown real estate is only going up and there is no bubble in the foreseeable future. Get an alarm, get a dog that barks (Champ Bailey is your typical Georgia dog, looks mean but a complete softy), and if you're going to work intown, live in the city. OK, off my soapbox for today. Do it. If I didn't have Ms. Cotton in tow, I'd be there with you smoking blunts and living the banker thug life.
How long do y'all plan on being in Midtown? It's insane the amount of development in the last two years and people truly living the city life. I was at the Regions building this morning for a meeting and amazed at how the Related development on WPT and 14th has come together. West Peachtree has become a legit city corridor.
Not from what Management has communicated thus far. Just said sprinkler system went off in adjacent units - so water and smoke damage. They were able to put it out pretty quickly. We had a pretty decent view from the street of the Fire Dept activity up there.
I have 2 tickets to Oh Wonder at Tabernacle tomorrow if anyone wants to buy them. I bought for $40 each, but will sell for $20 each.
Ok, so I'm going to SunTrust for a game soon and was curious about parking. The hotel has a shuttle but was wondering if it would be easier to just drive. Reason being, I have four kids and two are less than three years old. Pretty sure they won't last the whole game and would want to mob out once they start raising hell. Also, what about food at the park? Should we eat before game and grab snack there or indulge at the park?
I always park in the RED parking deck. Easy access in and out and not av whole lot of walking involved. There are plenty of places to eat but being that you have small children you might want to minimize their time out there in general.
Was in the mood for some good BBQ and live music last night, so drove up to Roswell for some Swallow at the Hollow... turns out that place is closed, and probably has been for years. Went over to GC BBQ instead, good beer selection but very disappointed in their brisket. Excellent sides in the macaroni and cheese and greens offerings, but below average brisket and weak sauce offerings. Heirloom is still 1 for me, Fox Bros 2, and a whole lot of whatever else for the 3rd spot.
I’m pretty much all about brisket anymore, but dude makes a compelling argument for the awesomeness of pork: https://www.ajc.com/entertainment/v...n-furman-cracklin-bbq/T1dT1LQ0qTNL3V5A96mZJP/
Got gordon bombay in atl this weekend and need a good outdoor lunch idea. Live near chastain but will go wherever.
Isn't there a Superica or El Felix on Roswell Road? If not there, come find a patio in Inman Park or the Highlands.
I should go back there, probably four or five years since I was there. I don’t remember it being exceptional, but maybe that’s just a function of the Roswell BBQ scene...
Olde Blind Dog is the Real Madrid bar, gf lives right above it and shit gets hype. El Classico last weekend was nuts
