Yeah we have them up here
One thing I love about this city is people stopping in the middle of a two lane road and throwing on their flashers. Very legal and very cool.
Was it Peachtree? I think you're allowed to egg them if they do it there
Depending on what time I’m coming home, I sometimes cut through midtown. Some jackass was stopped in the right lane next to Sig Samuels so that his buddy/fare could run in and grab his dry cleaning.
I also regularly deal with Uber’s/Lyfts stopped on North Highland in Inman Park. Now jackass Bird charging people are doing it too.
Those bird charger people have a whole operation. From giant vans to construction vests they are fucking prepared.
I saw a dude the other day in a fucking UHaul
Ran into a guy at work I hadn't seen in a while, apparently he had been out for two months because he was driving a scooter (forget which version) and the handlebars just came off. Concussion, split his chin open and all kinds of stuff.
Nobody maintains those things
Started reading this thinking he got hit by a car.
These companies just dump this shit in cities with total disregard for every aspect of them. Nashville outlawed them today and apparently you can call Atlanta 311 and they’ll seize them if they’re parked in roads or on sidewalks
I fell off one in Edgewood when I hit the street car track wrong. Had enough booze in me I barely felt it hopped up and kept scooting. Friend pointed out later I was dripping blood down my arm and woke up with a nice scrape on my stomach also.
Not going to be happy if they ban the scooters. They can be clutch in midtown
They make part of my morning commute so much easier and less sweaty.
I was in town last weekend and spent the whole time riding those scooters around midtown and Beltline
Those things fuck, but I also understand current residents hating them bc they’re scattered everywhere
The scooter riders that seemingly pay the most respect to cars/walkers/cyclists are those in obvious work attire. I have not witnessed where those people leave the scooters when they’re done (my bigger issue with scooters).
I always park out of the way because it's not hard to do. I heard a scooter beeping the other day and it was getting louder, so I looked out of the window to see who was riding without unlocking. Early 20's, piercings in his face. He ditched the scooter across the sidewalk right outside my place and just left it because it wouldn't stop making noise. Dumb people really irritate me.
I was behind a couple of teens swerving into oncoming traffic on 10th by the park the other day. Was hoping they’d get a real scare so they’d cut that shit out.
I never see anyone riding the bikes that get left out
Hitting Hal's tomorrow night for our June rendition. I am up next to decide where we go and am in search for a recommendation. Spots hit so far:
Kevin Rathbun Steak
Despite the list above, it does not have to be a steakhouse.
This is a really good list. I’ll add La Grotta, Beetlecat, and Ticonderoga Club.
That Miller Union wine list
Gunshow or do kbbq on Buford or in Duluth imo.
Edit: Ticonderoga is amazing. Great recco there as well.
Whats your favorite Korean bbq spot on Buford? This monthly dinner has also spurned a weekly Sunday visit to somewhere on Buford highway as well...
Marcel was my choice before making that post. Looks like decision made. That beef wellington is calling my name.
Food is great at Ticonderoga, but fuck their customer service.
I’d add O-Ku to your list as well.
Jump Bikes (red ones) are my jam for sure now. Much better (and safer) than a bird / lime scooter imo.
Banshee is incredible as well
There are only 2, but I think I like Han Il Kwan slightly better than Hae Woon Dae.
The Korean BBQ in Duluth is best though, in fact, Breakers is literally the #1 Korean BBQ joint in the United States. That said, some locals don't even think it's the best in Duluth -- the options are plentiful there. We have been to 678 and it was amazing. Lastly, if you go to KBBQ 100% make sure to get the galbi, sometimes spelled "kalbi." If you don't, you're really missing out.
Really? I feel like the customer service at Ticonderoga is the best I've experienced at a restaurant in Atlanta. We've been like 3x, and ever since the first time they have remembered us and our names. It's awesome being greeted by name with a smile when we show up. That said, we usually sit at the bar and the same guys are working there every time (Alec and Pat).
Ticonderoga is definitely a better “sit at the bar” place than it is a restaurant
Been to Fox Bros several times, went to Wyatt’s last trip to Atlanta and thinking of doing Greater Good this Saturday
I did not like Greater Good.
How was Wyatt's.
If you want to go to a place near by check out Anna's
Heirloom Market is infinitely superior to any other BBQ you’ll find in the Atlanta area.
sides were good but underwhelmed by the meat
Beef rib at Heirloom is legit god tier
Agree with this. Ribs are hit and miss, but sometimes I will get a great slab.
Wasnt that impressed with Greater Good. It was decent enough time, but better BBQ spots around town.
well where you going if not Fox or Wyatts
Go to Heirloom, goddamnit.
Have you had the short rib at Fox brother's?
Community Q in Decatur is legit
Ponce Market... there actually anything good there?
Speaking of barbecue, my vacation week with my kids starts tomorrow. They are 11 and 9 and just now starting to appreciate good food. We have a tradition of hitting up Fox Brothers and will be there sometime this weekend.
No. You should check Buckhead out.
I’m about to get an earful for saying that Community Q and not Texas bbq at Fox is the best in Atlanta proper. I’m bummed Burnt Fork in Decatur closed because that place was great.
wolfpck I highly recommend Sotto Sotto for Italian
Huge Community fan here.
And get the turkey rib at Anna's. Eat at GG at least once a month since it's so close by.
I like H&F burger and El Super Pan. Both very good.
El Super Pan is my go-to and I’ve never had a bad meal there
El Super Pan and Chai Pani for me. Biltong too.
