That’s what I do for United games
Went to Comedy on Draught at 3 taverns last night and it was really good, definitely recommend checking it out
Pro tip Savage Rob Chubb
park on the east west line if you can like at King Memorial, Inman Park, Edgewood, Decatur. They have parking lots or free spots near the station and you won’t be stuck waiting 20 min for a train at 5 pts station after the game.
been wanting to check it out for some time now. thanks for the nudge.
$13 includes 2 beers and the comedians were surprisingly good. It was a nice deal
Bolt Scooters also leaving Atlanta
Think Bird and Lime are going to be the only two left standing
Not necessarily an Atlanta question but hoping someone may know -
Moving to take a job in the NE GA foothills / mountains. Anyone know anything about toccoa / Clayton / clarksville / Cornelia? Likely have to live in one of those towns, don't know much about the area and live way too far away right now to visit and scope it out.
Don't mind the small town aspect of it but I'm wondering how trashy, if at all, they are.
Guys, El Tesoro is pretty addicting. Place has some good tacos and burritos.
Also, the Real Mexican Vittles have the best chorizo I've ever had. They are a catering restaurant I guess? I am not sure, but I had them the other week at Eventide for Dirty South Trivia. (The are at Eventide every Thursday fwiw)
I lived in Dahlonega for a year, which is probably more urbane than most of those places, and it was like living in one of those Alabama BCS trophy photo shoots at Walmart.
My Wife use to work in Cornelia. Nothing much there. Clayton has a cool small downtown area and is just a nice area right outside the Mountains. If you like Hiking and Fly Fishing its a great area.
What a day
My mom bought a place in Gainesville a year ago. It's suburban enough. Feel like it's kind of on the way outside edge of suburban Atlanta and the area you're talking about is a good bit more redneck.
Has anyone done Agatha's? Parents are coming to town and trying to think of something different to do with them.
Yep - I live pretty close, so it's great to walk down there for breakfast / coffee on Saturdays with my dog. Definitely like the expanded set up as well. We went Thursday night, and my wife was talking about wanting to go back on Saturday!
Got a few nice flakes in west midtown but mostly rain. This is badass though.
West Midtown weather was gross. I see all this snow and we got none.
Alpharetta is beautiful regardless of weather
Yup. Just rain in Buckhead.
Another shooting at Lenox Mall.
Is it just me or are things getting crazier out there?
I’ve only been there once and won’t go again.
I was high at Wendy’s on boulevard last week and all the sudden 10-15 loud pops happen down the street. I got out to look around and no one seemed concerned. Cops showed up and my high ass is rambling while I’m waiting for my food. Just another day in the A.
Anyone ever listen to Archive Atlanta?
Nah, but I listened to a bunch of episodes of Catlick (which is a historical true crime podcast that is all about Atlanta) before it started to feel a little too preachy for me. What's it about?
Just the history of Atlanta. Think episodes are around 15-20 minutes. Dives into different specific areas each week and tells you the history of that area. They are really entertaining and packed of historical info of areas you drive or walk through everyday in 20ish minutes
Looking to take some golf lessons ITP. Anyone have recommendations?
Bobby Jones has a fantastic facility and the prices are pretty reasonable
Anyone been to Sceptre Arts yet?
Went to Marcel for the first time in a while a few weeks ago and it was excellent. The bar area > dining room, love a good bar table
All part of mayor bottoms catch and release.
Yes. Beer is good. Different and not your typical stuff.
Food is Argosy burgers and other things.
But no argosy pizza :(
love trying a new place on the west side, then popping over there for a night cap.
going to Sweetwater today. Great day to be outside.
Wife and I are biking up for BReal at sweetwater this afternoon
Anyone else been to Lyla Lila? Only been for drinks a couple times, but the food looks good.
Food is incredible
Has anyone been to Georgia Boy? My brolo had an awful experience so I’m hesitant
Is that the new beltline spot?
Nah, that Bully Boy. This place is near the publix on Ponce and the Righteous Room. It’s a Gunshow alum and it’s supposed to be an immersive dinner party experience. Maybe they weren’t hitting on all cylinders yet but my brother in law said his waiter was strung out, the drink pairings were lackluster, the food was good but not awe inspiring, and the bill was $900
For how many people??
I don't see how thats possible.
I wouldn't pay it
No idea how it go so high but I think there were a lot of hidden fees. I think it’s like $350 just for the reservation then $160 a head for drink pairings. Who knows
I better be black out wasted for $160 of pairings.
I think it's on of those places like staple house where it's a 11 course tasting menu.
So $250 a couple should be right for food. 175 a person seems absurd.
A $900 meal that’s going to come out looking exactly the same as a $10 meal.
This is secondhand but I think they might have been charged $160 for each pairing. Either way, seems outrageous. You can get a bottle of chateauneuf du pape for that and call it an evening
That seems absurdly overpriced for both food and drinks
I'm not paying thst unless they are a Michelin star
Staple house drink pairings are $85
