Got an airbnb in NC mountains this weekend. Great escape from the city. Not much social distancing in Highlands as everyone stood on the sidewalk. Next weekend is our last weekend in East Lake before moving to Oak Grove.
Are you opposed to using Amazon as a marketplace? their used section is al,ost entirely just connecting you with other book stores
Speaking of small/local businesses, what are some you guys have been supporting during this whole ordeal? Haven’t really done takeout much but have stuck places like a mano, jacks pizza, Fritti, Iberian pig (I’m sure some are own by bigger restaurant groups but nevertheless). Got an art print from Sherry and Larry Paulson who work the neighborhood festival scene a lot as well as some candles from a couple Olver Fritz based in Decatur. Tried to buy Isbell’s album from Criminal Records but they didn’t have the deluxe version. Open to more suggestions.
I’ve probably paid Little Bangkoks power bill with the amount me and my girlfriend have eaten from there
Anyone done Talat Market? I'm a weird one that doesn't typically like most Thai food, but am fairly confident that I just haven't had very good Thai food. GF wants to try their takeout this week, and the menu looks good.
I went when it was a pop up inside Gato. It was really good. Most authentic I've had and similar to Thailand. Haven't been to this location yet
Do you have 2nd and Charles in Atlanta? I tore up the one here this weekend. Spent $50 and came home with 10 books
What’d you rent through? Running into people on Airbnb saying it’s actually not available to rent right now with covid
The layoff monster finally came for Larry. Apparently it's not a good time for experiential advertising.
It's happening everywhere. My wife works for Delta and they're doing early retirement packages, voluntary severance and anything else to get people to leave on their own. Once the government checks end in September the other shoe will drop. I work for another big conglomerate here in ATL and we're doing furloughs and RIFs right now, my team is down 20% and we got relatively lucky
After two rounds of layoffs and furloughs office went from ~80 to I think around 20-25. Our New York office has about five total now. Our parent company is also taking it on the chin pretty hard. I had Gu’s to ease the pain.
Be pretty damn impressive if there was a 231 page thread dedicated to a tv show with only 2 seasons though.
Had Little Bear takeout tonight. It was amazing. Highly recommend, though the menu is changing weekly. Out of the Southern Belle, Talat Market, and Little Bear menus — Little Bear was the best.
Does Clayton County have a better SWAT team than Fulton County? Why is it such a big deal they’re here?
Ive been rotating through them tonight, they’ve all got different angles on stuff throughout downtown so it’s a good change of view. fox had footage of about 15 people running into an AT&T store and absolutely raking in phones. People were walking out carrying 5 IPhones at minimum. All happened in less than 1-2 minutes.
A clearly vacant police car is being destroyed live on CBS Dumbass anchor asks if an officer is in there
One of the anchors was interviewing the fire chief and the anchor apparently thought the fire department was under staffed.
I run by there like every day. The att across Lenox from the mall? Why are they looting that shopping center with a mattress store and a ATT? At least take down the mall
WSB live shots were the worst for me, I just stuck with them bc they had a decent attorney on and were advocating for people to vote and complete their census. Just trying to effectuate some constructive change from the live shots they were showing. CBS 46 was the same, but some better live shots. Tittymilk gave the 11 alive suggestion and they had everything covered in terms of video.
