I feel the same way. Growing up in Tallahassee as a Braves fan Atlanta was always where I wanted to end up after college. My dad's buddy worked for the braves so we'd come up for a long weekend every summer and I always loved it. 11 years later and outside of moving back to Florida to be near family there's nowhere else I'd rather be
And the population is growing 1million new people in the metro areas and a 1 percent decline in rural areas We need to invest in infrastructure no matter what alternate reality austerity republicans live in
Gonna be interesting in the next 5-10 years if WFH remains a common thing and how the need for massive office buildings and living in a major city might be affected.
Very true And why I want more broadband investment along middle GA and regional cities WFH + Virtual Schooling
We've got a full floor in the King Building and now predominantly remote moving forward. In year 2 of a 7 year lease, expect they sublet at least half.
Hey y'all - wife and I are going away for thanksgiving w/ my sister and bro-in-law for a small family Thanksgiving gathering at the beach. He's from KY and bringing some pretty nice bourbons...what are some good local beers that I should load up on for us to drink at the beach/pool during the day? Looking for some less traditional recommendations than the Tropicailia/Hopsicutioner/420's of the world...
For lagers I really enjoy Arches Southside (more traditional) and Mexican Empire (darker Vienna style)
If you like hazy ipas, Monday Night is putting out some amazing stuff right now. All brewery only at their west midtown location though.
Halfway Crooks is putting out killer Euro-style pilsners, lagers, etc. as well. Their IPAs are legit too.
Variant just released a bunch of good stuff for their 3rd anniversary. Up in Roswell though, but worth the drive.
Second Monday night. I brought some up to friends in Charlotte a while back and everyone was impressed.
I have always liked the crew behind Monday Night but always thought the beer itself was average. Glad to hear they are doing good things, I haven't had any of their stuff in years I'll grab some when home for the Holidays.
this is the ticket right now. cant go wrong with their new brown ale, breakfast after meridiem, either. torched hop has some nice ipas that they have canned. the juice willis series at wrecking bar is fantastic. anything three taverns puts out is legit.
Hey gents - have had a mother cat and a baby in my warehouse for last few weeks...finally put a trap out last night and caught the mother. Very tame, let's me get close to her (very scared at the moment, she'll probably be sitting my lap in 24 hours) and a cutie! Putting a trap out for the baby tonight. Going to keep them in my office for a day or two until I can find a permanent solution, anyone know someone in ATL looking for a cat or two? Both cute, black with some white spots and white feet. Picture of the mother below: #Atlanta Braves #Atlanta Falcons #Atlanta United
I’d post on next door and r/Atlanta if you have either. Always see a lot of adoptions similar to this on those.
Guy my boss is taking me to dinner this week and told me I can pick any restaurant regardless of price. It’s too big of a decision, where should I go?
I mean he would probably be down, but we are also doing my review during this dinner so maybe somewhere more quiet
Last few times I’ve been to Miller Union it’s been as good as anything I’ve had in the city. La Grotta is a kick ass old school Italian joint with wise guy waiters and an absurd wine list. You can also splurge and get truffles shaved on your meal.
I had to double back on this post because I was bewildered no one had recommended the goat, cheesecake factory
Find a restaurant that you like that is also struggling badly. Go order many drinks, apps, and entrees and tip like you're dying. The food will be good and he'll respect you for trying to help a struggling business. Or go to Le Colonia
Nah thats why we wanted to try it out bc we had the dog with us, but they either had it filled up or reserved out, so we got seated in the main entryway. Will be a great all-around spot if we ever get on the other side of this pandemic.
Yeah, the breezeway is huge and nicely spaced out. We pretty much always do mussels, fries, and beer but everything on the menu is solid.
That whole building/space at bold monk looks like it'll be a great hangout spot, had been there before on a date in April, been wanting to go back
Anyone been to fire maker brewing? I had one of their ipa’s the other day and it was really good. Been wanting to head to the brewery, but haven’t had the chance yet.
Yeah they do good shit. I went during the early days of the pandemic when they just opened to pick up stuff and they let me try everything. Good people there.
I've gotten a breakfast sandwich when they first opened and it was good, but now there is a massive line constantly and I ain't got time for that
