I walk by Pour all the time, and that's actually the worst I've seen it. I'm sure they all have their vaccines already so NBD.
Starting the 4.5 hour drive from Mobile to Atlanta hungover, I would give just about anything to snap my fingers and be on the couch with my animals and my bubbler right now. Sigh. Weather freaking sucks too
Got takeout from the new DBA spot by Krog today and their new southern Italian sandwich was top shelf. We walked down to see how busy the beltline was while they were making our order and it was, predictably, pretty packed with spotty mask usage
A friend of mine who’s not a chud by any means made an offhand comment about covid concerns being relaxed once they call the election for Biden and sure enough on November 7th we went to get takeout from Rina and no one on the Beltline was masked up
Speaking of the Beltline, y’all remember when a guy was murdered by the O4W skate park and a cop borrowed someone’s bike to chase down the killer a few days later? Turns out I’m on the body cam footage in my wife’s car as the cop turned onto North by the Masquerade. I was headed to Publix and like “hey, this cyclist fucker needs to do a better job of yielding.” /randomthought
Yes, I beat thier ass why Beta Clown Baby and the others watched. Publix on Ponce is basically fight club
On a brighter note the East side trail is coming along really nicely. The new entrance ramp off of Montgomery Ferry is getting close to done, they’ve got the better part of a mile landscaped and paved and Trees Atlanta put in a dozen+ new trees. It will connect Piedmont Park to Armour drive down by Sweetwater when it's done
This is the one I’ve been going to. I’ve been sitting in the parking lot and not one single “hello at the show” followed by fisticuffs
The weirdest thing about this is that Pour Taproom sucks. It has all the charm of a fraternity band room. But any port in the storm, I guess
Team #pour, like the concept. Also respect the business genius of making your clients do the work, self-storage is an example of this
positive movement in state legislature for sports betting legalization also, now that Atlanta has actual political influence in D.C., the city needs to have our applications ready for all grants to finish the Beltline. Also a good shot at some Regional City Rail these next 4 years.
Anything new here? I read the stuff a couple weeks ago. It's absurd that the state keeps turning down free money.
It will likely be a slow process so not a ton. You will have just enough Republicans that want it plus the Dems to get some of it across the finish line. There are ways to do all of it without a State Constitution vote but Kemp will basically act in all ways through the lens of his reelection, so he may punt on signing anything before it is put to a public vote. - Horse Racing will for sure happen. Idk how many horse tracks we have, but sure the State could designate that out. - My guess is we will have mobile/online sports betting that mirrors Tennessee's legislation. Georgia always uses further right states as the guinea pig since 2002. All of the money will be designated to stabilize HOPE. Just a question is if it keeps a low enough profile, and religious bigots dont go crazy on it in the media, to make it through Kemp's desk. - The 3rd prong that probably waits until Abrams wins is the actual Physical casinos. There is more to flesh out there. How many do you do? Where do they go? And working on how the stream of money would be allocated to education or infrastructure will be a lot more complicated. Vegas Sands is currently lobbying the shit out of Texas right now, so once you see that type of slush fund money to buy Republican votes it becomes more of a reality.
Yea I am expecting mobile betting. Hopefully this year. Huge to have all the pro teams behind it. Wouldn't hate a casino in Savannah. Saw that proposal a while back.
man we used to drive to Cherokee, NC to go to that Harrah's. a casino in Atlanta would be packed 24/7
I would think Jonesboro if anywhere close to Atlanta. I dont think the Lake Lanier communities would want it. Downtown would be a disaster. There is and should be a lot of emphasis on initiatives for rural economic stimulus.
Hampton is a weird area. Adjacent to very metro very urban areas of Clayton, but also close to super rural and redneck areas of Fayette and Henry.
