I actually opened this thread to post an article I read about c and s. Looks awesome and has an Atlanta location. https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/georgia/best-food-of-your-life-ga/amp/
It's technically Piedmont Heights but backs up to Morningside. It's definitely not Buckhead and it's super mediocre bbq
Really hate this story, the murder happened very close to where I used to live (North Highland Steel). Even now I would occasionally walk by here with my dog late as hell on nights I couldn't sleep. Won't be doing that anymore. https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/atlanta-beltline-murder-1-arrested-2-at-large-atlanta-police-say
Don't get me wrong, I'll still walk by there, just not when I can't sleep, which would be at like 3-4AM.
Any Woodstock folks on TMB? This story is over a week old, but I'm curious if anyone knows more to this story? It's kind of bizarre. Cliffs: 26 year old woman is in water (unclear how), rescuers arrive but she refuses help, and then she drowns. Update: Woman's name was Ciara Rose Baughn Woman, 26, found dead in Cherokee County river after rescue attempts https://www.ajc.com/neighborhoods/c...at-woodstock-park/XXUFFJRTYVHC5GRAS6YC2UZY5Y/
No idea what’s going on with that but if ever there were a story analogous to unvaccinated people dying from covid, that’s it
Coming down to Atlanta on 4/22 - 4/25 for a HS business competition with 8 of my students. Anyone have recommendations? We’ll probably have at least one free day to do something reasonably cheap (we’re trying to fundraise so each kid will have a few budget but we won’t have too much to spend.)
MLK house, aquarium and Civil rights museum are all downtown and relatively close to each other. The Braves are in town that week as well. If you have a gofundme or something and post it here I'll drop the first $100 and I'd bet others will donate as well
Aquarium is pretty expensive. The zoo is cheap and awesome. Braves game is a good call, can get tickets for pretty cheap and there's a lot to do at the battery.
Thanks guys. I’ll let you know what we decide. Braves game sounds cool but I forgot to mention we’ll only be using public transportation. Still doable?
I’m against the Braves game for the record. Show these kids some of our incredible history, not a mixed use development in Cobb (even if it is cool)
I would do the Civil Rights Museum and World of Coke for HS age kids. Also have CFB Hall of Fame there too but not educational. MLK area is great too. I wish we still had Sci Trek but Fernbank is our only museum. High Museum of Art is our art museum.
I was a league bowler for many years, so no one around here takes the game more seriously than me. But man, that's a fucked up reason to kill someone.
I honestly couldn’t tell you what we get, not everything we’ve had is top notch, including some of the better cocktails in town.
I invited Capstone 88 but he said he’s got to meet with his probation officer in the morning so he’s spending the night in the sauna after consuming amounts of NOxplode that would kill most animals
They have some roll with seared scallops on top that they are always putting on Instagram. Looks phenomenonal.
We got gyoza, kings roll, langoustine roll, blue fin and waygu sashimi/nigiri. Unquestionably some of the best sushi I’ve ever had.
