O4W is the most walkable area of town with the beltline(a paved walkpath) connecting many different parts of towns worth checking out Atlantic Station is a shopping mall
Going to the airport in the same outfit you were wearing is a bold strategy. Truly surprised it didn't work out for her.
Atlantic Station is pretty disconnected from most stuff in Midtown and O4W is likely closer to the majority what you'll be doing. Where are you going for dinner, drinks etc?
Midtown is probably more walkable than O4W depending on what you want to do, but tons of stuff around O4W you can walk the beltline or take a quick Uber/drive.
Yeah it's in a weird middle area where you have to Uber everywhere. No thanks O4W is designed to be as walkable as possible
Man everyone in here, from the people who just moved here for a job to those of us who grew up here, is telling you O4W. I promise you won’t regret it.
It does seem like a cool area and is close to Midtown and Ponce Market. The issue is I'm traveling with my dad who has his pals staying in Midtown (at Loews Hotel for $500/night, hell naw) and he doesn't want to be far from the action of seeing other Oregon fans. He's old school and thinks that hotels are the only way to stay somewhere when traveling. So I'm trying to get all the information on the area to convince him to let me cancel our hotel reservations and rent us an AirBnB.
If your goal is to hang out with Oregon fans then yeah, but as far as doing things in Atlanta it will be 100x better
If you’re open to going a little ways and talking to UGA fans, Clown Baby will be in Buckhead at The Ivy at open.
He’s been DM’ing me constantly trying to get me to meet him there and then hop to Moondogs for ladies night. Says it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. In all honesty, I stopped responding a while ago.
I think me and a buddy are going to the Clemson/GA Tech game Labor Day night. Have never been to the new stadium. Are there good food/drink options walking distance from the stadium?
I would eat at the stadium. Kevin Gillespie's Gamechanger. Best bets for pregame are Elliot St pub, Reverb Hotel roof, Park Bar, or Max's. are you at East Lake this week?
Anyone gotten an uber lately from the airport? My mom is flying in next week and I don't think I can get her due to a surgery. I know Uber isn't at the far parking lot, but I'm not sure exactly where to tell her to go. Is underneath in lower level drop off/pick up area?
North side of domestic terminal, take the escalators behind baggage claim downstairs and out to the Uber lot. Signs for rideshare pick up are well marked so shouldn’t be hard.
was underneath as of earlier this summer. they may have added more signs to make it more confusing since then
It’s incredibly easy. Signs start when u get on escalator up from plane train. From there it’s basically equidistant to north and south sides, so not an issue.
I’m there 2-3 times a week. Hail the Uber right as you get to top of escalator from plain train and you typically can walk right into Uber without waiting.
Ok, I only ever go to south side bc delta, but users lately have been all from international terminal. And that's probably too much for my boomer 70 year old mom to figure out. So only North side. And the pick up is lower level?
Yes. But south and north side are just across the hall from each other. It’s not any different regardless of what terminal you land in at domestic.
Right, I understand the North/South. They are duplicates with the atrium in the middle. I just haven't gotten an Uber from domestic in a long time. Last time I had to walk a mile out into the long term parking, which I believe they have done away with. So to replay the tape. Uber *only* picks up on the north side. And it is the lower level, which you take the elevators on the wall once you walk through baggage claim turnstiles. I've figured out uber at plenty of airports, just trying to give an old person concise directions. This old person did walk to the north side the last time I tried to pick her up and I was sitting on the south side. Left vs Right can be difficult. I need specific North/Blue directions
If you do the Black XL yukon/tahoe thing they usually pick you up at L2 on the South Terminal side so it can be easier if you pay up
Once you leave north baggage claim on street level at the bottom floor you walk across the street through the parking garage and you end up at the Uber/Lyft pick up zone. Probably a minute walk through the parking deck so not far. The zone is not right outside of the doors when you leave the building.
That’s probably a worse situation than closing the main campus. AMC was nowhere near capacity so losing those beds isn’t that big of a hit, but the real issue is losing the ED capacity. Grady overflow was to AMC so losing ED beds hurts and it’s hurting a vulnerable population
Maybe if you weren’t busy trying to close your deal with the Rice-a-Roni people you could have advocated better for keeping AMC open
Going to Clemson game tomorrow night. Sticking around for a while Tuesday. My Clemson buddy is from KC and is a bbq fanatic. Do we need to go to Heirloom? If so that 40 dollar 2 person meal looks amazing.
Hey guys, we got the shit kicked outta us but Atlanta was awesome and I ate dinner at Delbar last night… so overall Im counting it as a win.
