I'm pretty upset that I have to miss the LCD/Idles shows due to fam vacation. But yeah Shaky Knees has been there with the exception of a couple years at Centennial for almost a decade, and it's a good setup. Not sure if this fest will have 1 or 2 stages but it should be solid.
Midtown crime down 30%. Def need Cop City to ramp up and help this "war zone" https://ctycms.com/ga-midtown/docs/midtown-public-safety-report-year-end-2022-v5---020223.pdf
I was at the 10th MARTA Station today to pick up my parents and I’ve never felt more scared in my life.
Pretty awesome to see the below, but can't find any public data on what these awards have been....anyone know?
Saw something recently where Kemp claimed Georgia would become the electric vehicle capital of the country. Think he pissed off some of the far right with it.
https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Georgia.pdf this is light on details but probably a bunch of private-public partnerships or using government welfare to attract corporate buildout from those battery factories and the like
Went to the new spot, Whoopsies, tonight. Good food, good drinks, but holy hell they need new ventilation. Left smelling like a kitchen and for about half an hour my eyes were burning from whatever they were cooking in the back.
Anyone have specific places they like in Blue Ridge? Going up there next weekend with the wife, child, and dog. Kid is 136 weeks old. Would like to do simple hikes, maybe a winery that isn't completely terrible (some are really bad) that has an open space for him to run, any above average places to eat? I've been a few times. Staying in between Ellijay and Blue Ridge.
Engelheim and Fainting Goat are fine as far as wineries go. You have to adjust your expectations anyway as far as N Ga wineries are concerned
Black Sheep was solid. Interesting little irish bar called the boro inn also. I love Old Toccoa Farm if you are a golfer.
Yeah, I'm not expecting amazing. I'd just want something that isn't gutter trash. I've been to a couple and shit was undrinkable. I did Frog Town once a while ago and it was solid
Views and atmosphere are better at Engelheim. Wine is probably a toss up but they’re both pretty good for what it is.
I was there in the fall and restaurant wise, I wandered around until I found something without a 2 hour wait. Hopefully it won't be as packed for you.
Blue Ridge is nuts in the fall. There's some decent places to eat in Downtown Jasper that aren't usually as crowded. 61 Main and the Old Mulehouse are a couple places where I've had good experiences. Usually far less crowded than Blue Ridge.
I’ve been to that area. Best advice is to find a cabin on Vrbo. Helen is kind of a cool city. My favorite part of the mountains is hiking/fishing and enjoying the cabin and scenery so not a lot of help on town entertainment
Went to Helen a couple years ago for Oktoberfest. It was fun for about ten minutes before I got tired of the horde of drunk rednecks.
I leave ITP for many reasons. I don't go to subpar areas like the Dahlonega outlet malls for vacation. Blue Ridge is a nice little town and area.
The NASCAR Rednecks are going to find you up there if you keep disrespecting Awesome Bill and their town of Dawsonville.
Cool treehouse on property, and they have live music on Friday and Saturday afternoons. Took my little niece and she enjoyed running around, have fun
