Couldn't tell if Jameis wanted to throw the ball out of the end zone to avoid the sack or be himself and try and make a play but be a dumbass doing it... either way, I didn't flinch watching. That's not a good thing but I've seen a lot of him.
Those drops by the Jags WRs are understandable. They're not used to the QB hitting them between the numbers.
Its crazy to think how talented this guy is and how he has developed. That 08 Miami Northwestern class was stacked with talent; absolutely destroyed my high school in the state title game. He was the lowest rated recruit and is the only remaining guy in the NFL from that class.
Wasn't intended to be a brag. Just pointing out how good the dude is compared to what was around him.
Bo didn't want him initially because he was "too small", and only after his brother Carl Pelini pleaded with him that Lavonte was a must-take after his phenomenal final juco season did we offer. He pry got Bo an extra year too because he single-handedly won us some games.
David should have an even better year with Chris Baker coming in as the 1 tech. Should free up David, Kwon, and GMac at times... Hypothetically, anyway. I think Baker was an acquisition that a lot of people overlook. McCoy has never really had someone to his inside that will eat up blocks like Baker can.
Yeah that was a very underrated pickup that will pay huge dividends for the defense. I feel cautiously optimistic about the defense, but I'd love to add another quality CB.
I think safety/safeties are the biggest need. Definitely need a CB in the fold for when Grimes' wheels start falling off. I think the DL will be fine if Spence takes the next step. It means you can throw out a really good 2 down lineup of Gholston, Baker, McCoy, and Ayers/Spence, then get creative on 3rd down pass rush units.
I feel better about the Safety situation with Wilcox and Evans coming in. I'm just worried we're beyond fucked if VH3 or Grimes goes down.
I like Wilcox, I think he's solid, but I'm very skeptical of Evans. I think it's going to take some time before he's good enough to start... if ever. He hasn't been too great in preseason so far.
I feel the same. I don't think Justin Evans really fits what we do on defense. He's more of a Cover 1 centerfielder to me, and that's just not us. Both the Evans and Beckwith picks are head scratchers to me.
You know they do that article for pretty much every team, right? Thought some of it was pretty funny.
deadspin is an unfunny shithole full of the worst sort of desperate tryhards. their crusade against jameis was unbearable in 2013.
It's like they used that drive to figure us out. Once that happened it was history from there. We were a triple option team with a bunch of white boys who were more intelligent than talented and never threw the ball. I'd consider south Florida a league of their own in talent.
Purchased this bad boy today: Last year at the Falcons game here in Atlanta they all got a kick out of: One thing I'll say for Falcons fans is that they mostly don't give a shit about the team so you can wear whatever you want without getting spit on or having some drunk fucking douche bag try to fight you in the stands
NFL fans are a special kind of trash. I think WVU and Wisco fans are the only college ones I've come across that have been somewhat similar. Experienced both of those fanbases when FSU played them in bowl games.
I went to one Bucs game last year (Thurs night against ATL) and witnessed a fight two rows behind me. Of course it was two fellow Bucs fans fighting each other.
WVU fans are okay at bowl games from what I've seen. Home games when all the complete trash comes out it's bad. My buddy is a WVU fan and saw other WVU fans dump a beer on some 70 year old guy and his 8 year old grand son because they were wearing Boston College shirts.
I almost got in a couple fights at a Bucs/Eagles game the year before drafting Jameis. 1 with an Eagles fan and 1 with a Bucs fan. I was in rare form that day.
I went there a few years back with clients and was surprised at out how good it was. I took the fam the next time I was in the area, too. Now I have three places to go for dinner whenever we're there. salt rock, lobster pot, and islandway.
