The beginning of that made me realize that for as consistently bad we've been, tampa is undefeated in super bowls. Counter that with the bills/vikings, who have been there 4x each and never won one. Incredible
If there's space then sure why not but even after reading the article I just don't see it happening unless Watt takes a steep discount (unlikely). No state income tax for half the games could help (it's helped the Lightning) but in the end I think other things like family will win out. You obviously have to explore it if you're Licht but money and possible injuries seem like deal breakers.
The gist I got from the article was giving Watt the money saved from cutting Brate and Gholston, which is about $12M. He’s already being paid by Houston, so it’s not unreasonable.
Fuck yes we got Shaq back! Was not expecting it tbh, and maybe we resigned everyone on offense. But having a pass rusher like Shaq for 4 years is so nice
Tryon was one of the players this past season that made the decision to opt out due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it was likely made easier by the fact that he proved much of what he needed to in the 2019 season alone. In fact, Tryon was lauded as a preseason All American by multiple outlets heading into 2020 due to his production. In 13 games at the University of Washington, he managed 41 total tackles, 12.5 of which were for loss and 8.0 sacks. Okay I like it
If Tryon played this year, there's a good chance he would have played his way into being a top 10 pick. In terms of potential, I'm ecstatic at this pick.
Yeah, I had forgot about him initially when we drafted him then reminded myself about him. he’s gonna be a great 3rd pass rusher for us
Spoke to the Bucs COO at my gym this morning and he said there's 1 guy they're really targeting... Spoiler
This may shock some of you, but I didn't actually talk to the COO about the draft this morning. I'd be mildly surprised if we took Trask or any QB in this draft. Feels like we're in Super Bowl or bust mode for 1 more year. I think they're more inclined to take players to build depth in the event we lose a starter to injury for an extended period of time. But IF we took a QB to groom as a potential heir, I like Trask and Mond the best out of what is left.
I don't think mond and trask are in the same hemisphere. Mond just doesn't seem nfl caliber to me. I'd rather just wait until next year
Figured you didn't but I still wouldn't mind it. I like Mills too but he'll be gone before Trask and Monday I would prefer a QB if we can snag one of them and let them sit for 2 seasons. It's worth it with what the future can still look like post-Tom Not being a homer, but if we don't go DT/DE in the 2nd I'd take Marvin Wilson. But I'd like to go DL before OL
I love it I wanted a QB this draft and he gets to sit behind Brady for 2 seasons. Rather have him come in next then find one in the trash draft next year
I have to assume we wanted one of the Centers that went right before our pick. Once that was no longer an option, Licht went full
At this point, I'm good with us trading the rest of our picks to move up to take the best OL available and calling it a draft.
When you have a small superbowl window you have to draft a career backup qb if the opportunity presents itself, that's science
By the time Brady retires I’m sure Trask is not the option but I’ll take it instead of Ryan fucking Griffith if the 43 yr old goes down
Fair. But where do we go that contributes? We need depth and that’s our draft. I would have gone DT/DE we are so worried about getting people who need to play now when we just resigned everyone that won a super bowl
im not trying to have an argument about it. Mills was my guy and I personally wanted a QB. I’m just an outlier of most Bucs fans, but I like the potential we will find a shiny new toy by the time Brady retires
Put Trask on any other college team and my thoughts don’t change. Not impressed. Never been impressed.
When you win the SB and return all 22 starters, you’re going to be hard-pressed to find a contributor late in the 2nd round. Not thrilled with the pick, but it’s whatever.
I’d have no problem with it in the 5th round. He’s got a noodle arm and can’t run. Brady has those, but he’s also got 6 rangz.
I mean, I’m good with this... we are about 20m saved once JPP and Suh leave, so we can pay Godwin. Bunch of other money going away, ans once $20m clears the books and a QB on a rookie deal steps in we can make sure to either resign Evans or trade/let him walk, and then build on the replacements. If we are back to back SB champs then who gives a fuck
Trask video was cool of him getting the phone call. Just of the mindset that when Brady retires it’s all going to shit anyways so just go BPA because this is a short window. Would love to be wrong and not be fucking awful post brady for 22 years
