TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston may bleed garnet and gold for his Florida State Seminoles, but for fans wanting their pictures taken with him, even fans of the Noles' most bitter rivals, the Florida Gators, he holds no grudges. Winston was having a bite to eat Monday at Tampa's International Mall when a family of Gators fans, fully decked out in orange and blue in honor of the Outback Bowl, walked in. Bucs QB Jameis Winston is all smiles posing for a photo with 4-month-old Gators fan Olivia Galvin at a Tampa restaurant. Courtesy of Brittany Galvin "When we first walked into the restaurant he looked at us and said, 'You can't sit here,' while holding his hand over the table next to him," Brittany Galvin said. "It took me a minute to realize it was him. He was smiling and laughing. He followed with, 'I'm just kidding. Here, go ahead.'" Galvin gently woke up her daughter Olivia, who is 4 months old, and asked if he would mind taking a picture with her. Galvin's husband joked, "There's no way he would do it, especially because she was in a Gator onesie!" Winston responded immediately with, "Of course!" Galvin then asked, "Do you want to hold her? Even though she's wearing blue?" Winston responded, "She's so beautiful. Of course I will." Galvin swears Olivia's stunned reaction isn't from being held by a former Seminoles quarterback but from the fact she'd just been woken her up from a nap. She also said Winston must have called her daughter "beautiful" at least five times. "I woke up Olivia because I knew this would probably be the only time in history she would meet a quarterback for an NFL team," Galvin said. "Not to mention how well he played this season and the game the day before was a huge win!" The best part though, aside from the priceless look on her face? "The Gator game is what we were all watching," Galvin said. Yes, even Winston. "He was right in front of the TV!"
Saw Jabrill Peppers mocked to us in a draft. I haven't watched any Michigan football, so I don't know how to feel. 1 INT in 3 years though?
I don't know what to feel either. Great athlete but what position is he projected in the pros? He seems so small for LB to me
Would love it if either Hooker or Adams fell to us. If they're gone, then best offensive skill player available imo.
Pewterreport.com dropped their first 7 rd mock today. http://www.pewterreport.com/pewterreport-coms-2017-bucs-7-round-mock-draft/
That kind of stat line didn't seem to hinder darby in buffalo, but I think I'd rather go OL there if someone good is around.
If this happens I hope they cut Conte and then sign him again just to cut him a second time...worth the cap hit in my opinion.
if that happens burn it all the fucking way down unless we pick up some OL in free agency im okay with a rb in the 2nd (better than a kicker) but no lineman at all? jesus fucking christ. also if we take a wr with the 1st rd i will be unhappy
I wont be mad about a WR in the 1st rd so long as they address S in the 2nd. I know they're expecting Sweezy and Dotson back, so maybe they address OL in a later round or FA
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS SHOULD TARGET WR ALSHON JEFFERY IN FREE AGENCY Alshon Jeffery was once considered as one of the best wide receivers in the entire NFL. He has the size and athleticism to make opposing defensive coordinators lose sleep while also possessing an above average pair of hands. Unfortunately, injuries and off-the-field issues have derailed his career with the Chicago Bears over the last couple of seasons. At this point in time, it looks likely that Jeffery will end up leaving the Bears in NFL free agency this offseason. If that is indeed the case, the market for him will be extremely hot right off the bat. Even Pro Football Focus lists the Buccaneers as one of the top potential landing spots for Jeffery this offseason Spoiler Looking ahead at the teams in need of help at the wide receiver position, there is one in particular that would make perfect sense for Jeffery. It has been quite some time since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Coming into the 2016 season, very little hype surrounded Tampa Bay. Despite that fact, the Buccaneers have taken the NFL by storm and finished the season with a 9-7 record. What is their biggest need heading into this offseason as they look to build upon the momentum that they have started this season? If you guessed wide receiver, you would be correct Signing Jeffery would be the step that takes the Buccaneers to the next level. Having that type of a threat for franchise quarterback Jameis Winston to utilize would be the icing on the cake for the Tampa Bay offense. Considering the fact that the Buccaneers already have Mike Evans, the addition of Jeffery could very well give the Bucs one of the most dangerous aerial attacks in the league. Evans caught 96 passes for 1,321 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. Winston completed 60.8 percent of his passes for 4,090 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. Those numbers for Winston would increase dramatically with a legitimate No. 2 wide receiver. Tampa Bay hoped that Vincent Jackson could be that piece, but he went down with a season-ending injury and age has obviously been holding him back over the last couple years. . Jeffery suffered through another disappointing season, catching just 52 passes for 821 yards and two touchdowns. Part of his issues was the play of the Chicago quarterbacks. He had to play with Jay Cutler, Brian Hoyer, and Matt Barkley, which isn’t going to get the job done anywhere at the NFL level. At just 26-years-old, Jeffery hasn’t even reached his ceiling from a potential standpoint. That is a scary thought. Just a couple short seasons ago in 2014, Jeffery caught 85 passes for 1,133 yards and 10 touchdowns. If Jeffery could get back to the level that he showed in 2014, which playing with a star quarterback could potentially do for him, Jeffery and Evans would make for top-notch entertainment. Will Tampa Bay be willing to pay the price that it will take to bring Jeffery on board? That is the question. It has become obvious that Buccaneers’ management is doing everything in their power to make the team a contender once again, which certainly makes signing Jeffery a real possibility. All of that being said, it will be interesting to follow Jeffery this coming offseason and see where the next chapter of his career will be played. Other teams like the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams could make a play for him. Chicago might even decide to bring him back if he’s interested in that option. Even with other solid destinations, none can offer him the opportunity that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can. He would be a superstar on an offense that could end up being one of the best playmaking offenses in this era of football. Tampa Bay should pursue Jeffery in free agency and should be willing to pay top dollar to do so .
100% disagree with this, get the best T or G available and worry about the other shit later. S is a priority i get that but you better protect your franchise qb
I understand what you're saying and agree that protecting Jameis should be our #1 priority, but talented OL can be found all over the draft. I'm all for taking the best available OL at 19. There's a reason the Cowboys have the best OL in the league with 3 1st rd picks starting. But I can also understand why they wouldn't with Dotson and Sweezy coming back from injury. In terms of OL, I really hope we give Ethan Pocic a look if he's there. Did Mike McGlinchey from ND declare? Edit: McGlinchey is returning to ND
It's a shit year for OL in the draft. Anyone we take early would likely be a reach unfortunately. I'd rather sign someone in FA and then try to find one in the middle rounds.
Trying to project any picks beyond round one is laughable so I don't hold any stock in these projections at all. And truth be told, there's no way the Bucs get out of this draft without an offensive lineman. More importantly, we may lose our DC to Jacksonville.
he is the best FA OT out there IMO I'd be ok with signing Ricky Wagner. I really want to go vet at RT rather than take a chance on a young guy in this draft. I wouldn't mind drafting Quinton Nelson from ND or Pat Elflein out of OSU
I want the BPA in the first. We need talent damn near everywhere. Gonna need a non kicker though licht
I've seen a few mocks with the same. I would not be happy with that pick at all. He doesn't translate, imo. Would rather have Adams from LSU or Hooker from Ohio St, but I fear that both will be off the board by 19
we better take someone to help jameis out in the first round. take BPA as long as it's an OT or WR or OJ howard. our defense carried the offense for a good portion of the season. need improvement at safety but I hope we address that in FA or later in the draft. jameis needs help.
Definitely agree although I just can't be mad at getting help in the secondary, especially a guy like Adams. With the way Brate played in place of ASJ I don't really want Howard as much as I did earlier in the year, at least not enough to take him rd1
I can't see taking a TE in round 1. Brate is just fine. Secondary, OL, and WR need to be hit and hit hard this draft
The position is too deep to take a TE in rd 1 imo. I'm hoping we can make some good FA acquisitions to make the draft a little easier.
I love brate, but another big receiving threat to go along with evans and brate would certainly be helpful now that we don't have VJax. especially given how terrible we are in the red zone. howard wouldn't be my first choice (i'd rather have a speedy WR or OT) but he makes our offense instantly better if we did take him. evans, howard and brate would be deadly in the red zone and he's also got pretty good speed again, wouldn't be my first choice but I'd like the pick since i've seen him mocked to us twice now
No it wouldn't. NFL defenses are bigger, faster, and better than anything he saw in the college. I'm sure he'd have a big play here and there, but not anywhere close to the rate he had them in college if he doesn't have good blocking up front to get him to the next level.
I personally think the RB position has become such a utility position that unless there is an Elliot or Peterson available, you go with something else in the first. We need a WR, OL or Edge in the first. Best avail
