maybe a million or 2 more per year? I think thats well worth it Julio Jones - 14 mill per year Dez - 14 D Thomas - 14 Antonio Brown - 17 (but that was just signed and he wont get that much) so im guessing about 13 to 14 per year, which i think is better than giving Djax 12 million. Jeffrey just turned 27 last month while Djax turns 31 later this year
I definitely want Alshon more but am skeptical Jackson gets $12M. $10M seems more likely although the length of the deal for each is a factor.
We already have a better version of Alshon in Mike Evans. Give me DJax to prevent the safeties from doubling up on Evans on deep balls.
Jeffery is the better player, but Jackson is the better compliment to Evans, imo. Overall cost of contract doesn't matter as much as the guaranteed money involved.
it wouldn't for me. jackson's a great signing for a few years but he's hardly a long-term solution i'd still take an offensive threat with that first pick
Not really, but I'm also a lot less dead set on offense with pick 1 than I was before considering how deep the TE, RB, and WR class is. In a perfect world we would be able to trade to the bottom of the 1st and pick up an extra 2nd.
If we're bringing Quiz back and giving Martin another chance, I really hope we'd go a different position with our 1st pick and address RB in a later round.
I'm betting they tell him he has to restructure his deal or he's going to be cut/traded. I'm happy to have him back on a restructured, incentivised deal that gives him 1 more shot to prove himself. Unless he just wants to leave Tampa, I'd assume he'd play ball with Licht since any team that signs him will probably low ball him much more than we would.
Martin's future will be decided by the draft, not vice-versa imo. They can cut him whenever so there's really no incentive to void his contract this soon. Let things play out and see where he fits. Hell they can wait to see how he looks in preseason and decide then.
I agree with the above. If Cook is there for us I think it's an easy decision. I don't think he or Howard will be there. So I'm onboard trading back. Grab your S and then hopefully end up with an extra 2nd round pick to spend on Special Teams...again
Who is the top punter in the draft? I think we can get him in the late 2nd which is really a steal when you think about it
seems like a good deal considering we've paid VJax 9 mil/year to have no ACL for the last 2 years we won't be up against the cap in the next 2 years since we're still on jameis' rookie deal so spend away until then
Eat Jameis, Eat! Evans getting rest, and DJax spreading the field? Brate gonna be our MVP with that shit.
Big fan of our offseason moves so far. With the 2 additions above and a nice draft we could make some serious improvement on a team that was on the edge of the playoffs.
So if Dalvin Cook and OJ Howard are off the board at 19 and we aren't able to trade back, who do you want us to take that will realistically be available?
UCONN safety is intriguing and assuming Davis is gone maybe one of the OTs . I don't love the value there but it fills a need. I really don't love any pick at 19 if Cook, Howard and Davis are all gone.
