Tabor had the slow combine 40. I'm sure he'll do better at his pro day, but speed was never his game.
I like him a lot. He'd be the top safety in the draft if he was 2 inches taller and 15-20 lbs heavier.
I'm betting that's who we'll draft if Howard, Cook, and Davis are gone (they probably will be). What I hope is that someone like the Seahawks swaps 1st rd picks with us since I think there's going to be an OL run from picks 20-26, and hopefully they really like someone. From everything Koetter and Licht have said, we're not addressing OL early this year.
New Pewter Report mock: Rd 1. David Njoku (TE, Miami) Rd 2. Budda Baker (FS, Washington) Rd 3. Marlon Mack (RB, USF) Rd 4. Josh Reynolds (WR, Texas A&M) Rd 5. Michael Roberts (TE, Toledo) Rd 6. Javancy Jones (DE, Jackson St) Rd 7. Shelton Gibson (WR, WVU) https://www.pewterreport.com/pewterreport-coms-2017-bucs-7-round-mock-draft-3-0/
After watching his highlights, is there any chance of getting baker with that second round pick? 50 overall
Daniel Jeremiah's mocks just get worse and worse for us. He's now pegging us to take Chidobe Awuzie. I haven't seen him anywhere near the 1st rd in any mock until now
NFL.com analysists all currently have Chidobe Awuzie, Alvin Kamara, Malik McDowell, and Dalvin Cook mocked to us btw. McDowell could be really good if he pulls his head out of his ass. No thanks on a RB in the 1st.
No thanks on a TE who can't block in the 1st. mack is intriguing although I'd rather wait until the 4th for him
Agreed, although (devils advocate) Njoku is only 20 and blocking can be taught. His ceiling is pretty high and as a receiver only would immediately give opposing defenses matchup nightmares between him, Evans, Jackson, and Brate. Definitely agree that he's not as polished as you want a 1st rd prospect to be though
He definitely brings a lot to the table but with a deep TE class I don't want to spend a 1st on him. The kid from Iowa, Kittle, is the same size and had a better combine performance. I'd rather take him in the 3rd vs. Njoku #19. You've also got Hodges,Engram and Leggett who represent athletic mismatches that will be available later.

Longtime kicker Nick Folk to sign with Buccaneers TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers promised to bring in competition at the kicking position this offseason. On Friday, they stood by their word, agreeing to a deal with former New York Jets kicker Nick Folk to compete with Roberto Aguayo, sources said. Folk, 32, who spent the past seven seasons with the Jets before being cut last month, went 27-of-31 (87.1 percent) on field goals last season. His longest kick was from 51 yards. He also went 3-for-3 on field goals from 40 to 49 yards, tied for best in the league, and went 2-of-4 on kicks from 50-plus yards
Weird how you can sign a quality kicker in FA instead of drafting one in the 2nd rd. Never would have guessed.
