Just saw SBNation mocked Marlon Davidson to us in the 2nd. In addition to being a meh pick, I just think Licht is treating the first 3 rds of this draft to find immediate contributors to try and make a Super Bowl run and a back-up, but eventual starting DT doesn't really fit that bill.

 

That's why I like one of the safeties or the TCU DT in rd2 if we believe the next 4-5 RBs are in the same tier. I do think we need a DT who can give Suh a rest, he's getting old

 

Even though I'm sick of Licht drafting DBs, I wouldn't mind if we traded Howard for a 2nd rd pick at grab one of the top safeties. Feel like that's the 1 position on defense with a lot of uncertainty.

 

Safety is a bunch of JAGs for sure. Evans has potential but I don't think he'll ever be reliable in terms of health

yes. Safety is a huge need imo. Improving that position, assuming the end of last year wasn’t a fluke, and I think we could be a very good D unit.

 

Agreed. There's also some good FA safeties out there, so that's a band-aid option as well.

 

Do we have cap space for any of them?

 

Teams always seem to find a way to create cap space when they seemingly don't have any. I'm sure we could find a way to make it work.

Eason is gone and Fromm has a noodle arm. Target a developmental QB next yr imo.

 

Hope you're right and he ends up being a stud. Think Perine would have been a better compliment to RoJo due to his pass catching/route running ability.
