I want nothing to do with the guy. It says something about him. I feel like players would always have that in the back of their head too.
I don’t think Jerry would hire him anyway, the dude would probably want some kind of say in personnel, but he doesn’t have the skins on the wall for that
dak has done nothing but regress with moore as qb coach, and moore is a linehan disciple. why part with linehan to just promote his underling that has done absolutely nothing of note?
Did dak regress because linehan was awful or because moore is a bad coach? Coaching one year under linehan doesn't really move the needle for me as being a similar guy. I dont know how people could really know anything about him as a coach from a fan standpoint. He's been a coach for a year. Seems like a bad move to make someone that inexperienced an OC though
It is a bad move. It is tough to delineate bad play calling from linehan vs Moore missing the mark for sure. I would say Daks fundamentals were inconsistent this year. Rushed footwork, not waiting for the play to develop, etc were all opportunities all year with no improvement. That’s Kellen.
Even if Kellen Moore is some kind of offensive guru in the making, is this the kind of place where that can come to fruition? Will Dak really listen to him as an OC? The dude was his backup. I don't know. I guess the team knows more about their relationship than I do, but it just doesn't seem like it would pan out very well.
Not to mention the way he fucking turtled any time there was any interior pressure Can’t fucking wait for Frederick to get back and Williams to put on some more weight and spend an offseason in the strength program
He'll never coach. He's happy in the booth and he's making just as much money as he would coaching. WAY more free time, family time, etc.
Oh good lord ESPN is reporting we're apparently hiring Kitna as a QB coach. If you're wondering how we'd do that since Kellen Moore is apparently being retained...yes your worst fears are likely going to be coming true. The ESPN article noted he was a leading candidate for the OC position.
I do like the idea of Jon Kitna in as a new QB coach to help Dak fundamentally. TBD on Kellen Moore if he's the choice, but those Boise State guys are usually pretty sharp.
Man I can already see how this will go. For the next week or so, all the beat writers for the team will start putting out stories about how Kellen is a "boy genius" with an "amazing football IQ" and our fanbase will fully buy that. By the time they make the promotion official, all the mouthbreathers will 100% believe hes a prodigy. Its going to be exactly like the whole "we don't need a #1 wide out. We are going to scheme guys open and Dak will spread the ball around" shtick that went around last offseason.
I don't see things being that much different that what we've been seeing. Harping on execution and sticking to the same plan all the time is pretty much Garrett's M.O. If we lose, its because we didn't execute our plan. There never seems to be a lot of adjustment to how teams are attacking us or tailoring schemes to what players do well. With Romo, that worked. It may have won them a Super Bowl had Jerry gotten him an offensive line early in his career instead of waiting until he was broken. Dak will never be close to a Romo though. If they stick to their guns instead of modifying things for him, it will just be more of the same for the foreseeable future.
I’m willing to give Moore a shot because Linehan was legitimately the least creative, most stubborn mother fucker I’ve ever watched call plays I feel like anything will be an improvement
He can’t teach Dak to hit wide open WR running fades, but he can run an offense? Maybe Kitna can teach Dak how to throw.
Eh. He has the most targets on the team this year. Amari would have if he was there for the full season, and rightfully so. I’m kinda tired of his whining this year.
"I don't need the ball all the time. Just more than 3 targets a game. Is 5 to 8 targets a game at least too much to ask?" Beasley averaged 6.14 targets per game before Dallas acquired No. 1 receiver Amari Cooperfrom the Oakland Raiders and 4.45 targets per game after the swap, including the postseason. On the whole, he averaged 5.11 targets per game, including playoffs. The diminutive receiver clarified his complaints over targets don't portend an assured departure, but it's not a good sign. Dude, shut up and make fucking plays
Maybe if he could keep his glass ankles and hamstrings off the fucking sidelines he could get more targets
surprising how much his whining has flown under the radar member when the dude walked off the practice field and “quit” because he got yelled at?

So far: Jason Witten returns Jamize Olawale resigns Cam Fleming resigns Tavon Austin resigns Christian Covington on a 1 year deal I actually really like the last move but also stop being fucking cheap
Looking at Spotrac we're at $25.8 mil but they don't have cap figures on Austin, Fleming, Covington, Olawale, or LP Ladouceur who I guess we may have also resigned. Fleming and Olawale deals are at a hair over $6 mil AAV and I would assume LP is vet minimum which would be a hair over a mil so I'd guess we're looking at around $18 mil in functional space before whatever Austin and Covington get announced at
Hope we take a look at Clayborn with NE cutting him Wouldn’t factor into comp pick formula and would give another competent body at DE so you could stay true to your board
We got rid of Scott and thats worth a lot to me and my mental health. Now if they can just stop fucking around and sign Tank ill be good. Side note: I will be at training camp this year. I am stoked
I hate the local media. Their answer to filling the hole at DT/DL/Safety/Slot is pick 58. Uh, you do realize we only get one pick at 58 right? You can’t fill all those needs at that spot.
