Jerrah said in an interview on DC.com, the org. Is putting faith in Rico, and that he "will be a contributor" this year..... :jew:
Anyone see the latest "workout" pic? Had La'ell at RT, Cooper?(I think from the Titans) LG, and Rico as WS TE...was from a twitter post...
Never liked the Cowboys, but after this draft it's going to be really hard not root for you. Taco and Lewis were arguably the top 2 players on our defense and should be both be great pros. Lewis from 2015 on was our best coverage guy @UofM since Woodson IMO. I can count on one hand the times he was beat for a chunk play. Taco was mostly a rotational pass rusher who only used his length and speed. He started becoming a more complete player late '15, and then everything clicked this year and he became a star. He missed the first 3 games with injury, and wasn't really 100% until OSU, but still dominated. Awuzie (sp?) the CB out of Colorado was another great pick. He played a great game against us and our coaches said he was the best CB they'd played since coming here.
Guys after doing some totally unbiased, objective analysis I think its safe to say this is our year and we are going undefeated and winning the super bowl.
My dad is from Oakland and grew up a huge fan so honestly a Cowboys/Raiders super bowl would be pretty awesome. He would be very happy so if the Boys can't win ill take that haha
Dec. 17th Will be a good game... Congrats on Lynch coming back, You guys have put together a solid ass team again.
Man, I will always think of what could have been with Rolando. If he was lining up with Lee and Jaylon this year we would be scary good at LB. Sad end to a sad story. On the bright side, I am so ready for Jaylon to ball out. Every interview I see with him I like him a little more. Super humble kid who just exudes "right kind of guy."
Meh, they don't really all fit on the field together at once and we really rarely run base package sets with three backers
I wanna fall for what Jaylon and the Jones' are saying about him being a big contributor this year but i'm still not falling for it. Would LOVE to have him this year, much needed type of player. Excited about our secondary draft picks, just really hope we can get a solid pass rush this season
disagree, we run 3 LBs fairly often on 1st and 2nd down. if you had those three, you're going to find a way to keep them on the field but alas, ragonk gonna ragonk
We had 1053 defensive snaps last year and only 2255 total taken by nominal linebackers. That means there are 2.14 linebackers on the field for your average defensive snap. 5317 snaps were taken by defensive backs for an average of 5.05 DB snaps per defensive play. Like I said, we don't often play with 3 linebackers. The nickel is our base package. I can't find the data but I'd be willing to bet we played close to as many and maybe more snaps in the "Big Dime" 3-2-6 sets with 3 safeties than we played 4-3.
I am just really stoked to see if Jaylon can make an impact. Dude has been all-world his whole life and has tremendous character. If he can get back to full health I think he can change the tone of the defense. I am of the opinion that we arent that far away from being a championship calendar team. A few pieces on defense and some calls/events going our way and we are right there
Yes Sir, and lawdy lawd if these new DB's can bring to the Pro level what they brought in College....there'll be a sixth trophy in the near future, pardon the homerism but when we drafted Chidobe I was as happy as a two dicked lap dog...
Amen on that man. Lewis and Chido both have great potential. I didn't watch enough Taco to know what to expect there. Some people seem to think he could be really good, others not so much. We will see what happens when the Giants come to town in September. After last years pair of losses to them I would love for Dak and Zeke to get some revenge. I will be at the Packers game. I want to beat Rodgers so bad it hurts
You lucky duck, Yes I'd love to see Jaylon hit Erin Rodgers so hard his kids have migraines... I remember reading where Pope Marinelli said Taco was one of the best suited for our scheme, A good bit on DC.com the other day was Tyron Smith talking about how D Ware "schooled" him his first few years, and his intentions to try and mentor Taco the same way....
Jourdan Lewis and Xavier Woods have my hopes soaring as well... Just a weird good feeling that Woods will be a younger version of Church, I actually thought we would draft that Melifonwu kid from Conn. Think that dude may have a pretty decent career
I saw this as well. This morning I read that they have been going back and forth so far at camp. Taco will get a good rush in with a spin move and then on the next down Tyron will take him off his feet with a punch. The rookie is learning a lot by all accounts. If we could just get out of our own way I would feel a lot better :/ I saw a chart showing the number of games teams have lost due to suspension since 2014. Cowboys #1 with 100 games. #2 was the ravens at 63. We lose a defensive playmaker every god damn year. Hopefully Jaylon and the new guys bring a different tone
Fucking goddell, it's bad enough with the horsefuckery he's putting on Irving, but the cockfag also won't close the books on the Zeke deal, even though the police have stated there were no grounds for charges being filed etc... Am really wishing Anton Chigurgh would visit mr goodell...soon
One thing I wanted to tell y'all, as it's just too good to keep to myself. I've known Lane Johnson most of his life, and that kid has and still always wanted to be a Cowboy, He told his Dad last year while he was suspended "I'd play for the minimum to be in Dallas" My god, could you imagine if it somehow fell that he was wearing The Star on this line ?
Itll be interesting to see what Tapper brings to the table as well https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/da...ky-combo-lined-next-taco-charlton-scary-front
I love tapper, I think he's going to be really good. Poor guy got stuck playing out of position his entire time at OU. Definitely a perfect 4-3 DE
Most definitely, especially now that noGoddell has a chubby for fucking with David Irving...and still Zeke...
So it sounds like we now have Chaz Green taking first team snaps at LG and La'el practicing exclusively at RT. That appears to be the formula they are going to go with. I am happy with that lineup. If they stay healthy, both guys have shown great ability.
Yeah no arguments here but Chaz has a history of not being able to stay healthy. Hope Cooper becomes the player everyone expected him to be when drafted
lol Lucky Whitehead arrested for shoplifting. We cannot stop shooting ourselves in the foot out here.
I hate to put any hype on a rookie but I legitimately feel Ryan Switzer can do what Lucky did (and maybe without the fumbles)
hopefully it was actually something nice, unlike when joe randle stole some underwear and cologne samplers
$40 worth of stuff at a gas station at like 2 AM. Hope all those skittles were worth the 600k he will lose out on when hes cut
"Everybody in this organization knows what's up with me," Bryant said. "They know I love this football team. You know, me personally, I feel nobody reps the star more than me. That's not a shot directed at nobody, that's just how I feel. I always loved it. I love the fans and I put my all out for them you know? I don't care if I'm injured, I'll try my best to get out there and play. That's how it's always been. I love Dallas. I love this place, I just love everything about it. I love the coaches, I love (owner) Jerry Jones, I love Stephen (Jones), I love everybody around this place." Dez Bryant da God
Lucky Whitehead is claiming mistaken identity in his legal case and says that he has a plane ticket showing he wasn't in VA at the time of the shoplifting
Yeah I saw that. That REALLY sucks for him if its true. He was more than likely on the bubble anyway but that is a super shitty situation
Currently running with 2nd team but working 1 on 1 with Tyron Smith a lot which should do wonders for his development. Marinelli's system is one that rotates guys in and out a lot at D End so he will definitely get his shot. I think thus far, given where he was drafted, he has met expectations from what I have read.
