I am just saying, its not like we are dealing with Sam Bradford here. The guy has had a few injuries but has played the vast majority of games in his career. He has only missed 8 more games than Brady has in 10 years. To characterize him as a guy who "isn't on the field enough to be worth the money" is, in my opinion, unfair. But everyone is entitled to their view.

Full disclosure I think Romo is great, well worth the money, and overly criticized by cowboy fan in general.

As someone mentioned, imagine rooting for a team who would give Brock Osweiler $80 million. Cowboy fans don't know how lucky they've been at qb for 12 years.

Yeah life after Jimmy was miserable until Romo got the starting position. He has been criticized way too hard, he's been a hell of a QB. Dallas' downfall is in the defense

We won our super bowls be made off of the defense we got from Hershel Walker. Hopefully we draft heavy defense this coming year. All three levels need help

We just can never seem to have everything fixed at the same time. When our defense was serviceable with Ware leading the charge, our line was so penalty-prone and terrible at protection that the offense had them on the field every 10 seconds. Now that we have the offense humming, the defense is a mess. Hopefully we will eventually get all the plates spinning at the same time

I don't get the heavy criticism of the Brock thing. The Texans are a qb away from being a serious competitor and their only option this off season was osweiler. His average salary is good for 17th on the qb totem pole. If it doesn't work out after two years, you move on.

Oh the market definitely forced their hand. He was probably the best free agent prospect available and you have to pay that money or he goes elsewhere but its certainly not ideal to pay all that for potential

Not for this season, but if Jaylon comes back next year and is the player people think he is, that is a huge steal for us. Getting scandrick back healthy and byron switching to safety are good moves. There is definitely work to be done but I dont think its that bad. This is a slightly better version of the defense that played well above its class in 2014.

I actually liked the Jaylon pick, but Gregory seems like he's done for. Lawrence is out for some games, we need a pass rush. Carr is sub par, thankfully Scandrick is back...Claiborne seems to be getting the hang of it finally

Yeah hopefully Lawrence will learn this time around. He has real talent. Mo does look a lot better this offseason. We will see what happens. We definitely need to get our hands on a blue chip edge rusher in the next couple drafts though

I agree overall. Gotta do something to make the position right. My point was more that the Cowboys have had stability at the position while the Texans have had Carr, Ragone, Rosenfels, Schaub, Keenum, Fitzpatrick, Mallett, Hoyer, with a few others sprinkled I'm there along the way.

the DL is going to fucking suck and that's all that matters. secondary will be a solid unit but will have to cover for about twice as long as they should

worried about LB too... lee will get hurt at some point, no mcclain, durant has been doo doo since he got injured in 2014 (and he's old), sounds like wilson is pretty good but he's been banged up a lot

we better kill TOP because we're not making the playoffs if we don't hold the ball 35+ min a game

Which I don't understand, he's been viewed as a fringe qb for most of his career, but he puts up numbers when he plays. Compared to a lot of the hot garbage out there I would take him in a second

I think Tapper could end up being pretty good, but it's going to take him a few years and he's the perfect guy for first one off the bench

lawrence was starting to come on but it sounds like he's a dumbass. he's got all the tools though. besides that, what do you have? a guy in gregory that a. is way too small to be an every down lineman and b. might not even have a future in football if he can't get his mental issues figured out. he may not even play at all this year

tyrone crawford is what he is, a pretty good player but too small for inside and not explosive enough to play outside

other than that, who else even has a future with this team? we've done a terrible job with the line

Agreed. I think they thought Hardy would be a plug a play baller and he was anything but. Tapper might pan out down the line. Lawrence has real talent for sure and if he can get his shit together I could see him being a double digit sack guy but we HAVE to get some improvement on the interior and in that other D End spot. We need to put focus there like we did on the O line the last couple seasons.

Coming in here to show some love for my boy dak. It's going to feel weird not seeing him at qb this fall for us but so glad he's off to the start he is. Great kid that I hope can keep it up. You have a new cowboys fan in me now so let's go.

Well, obviously the whole Tony situation wasn't ideal last night. That said, Zeke looks as good as advertised and Dak looked really poised under pressure. For a pair of rookies against one of the best defenses in the league, that was a great showing in my opinion. T Will's body catching ass makes me so frustrated. If that had been Dez on that long play that would have been a touchdown. WR depth across the board looks pretty good though. Brice Butler has really stepped his game up.

My prediction: if we stay relatively healthy (Dez/Tony/Zeke/Oline and Lawrence/Scandrick/Byron/Lee play 13+ games each) we will go 10-6 and win the division.

If Romo plays 16 games (massive, massive if), I would bet heavily on the cowboys winning the division. Running game is going to be outstanding (would've been very good even without Zeke, still don't agree with that pick even though he looked fantastic last night). And I think the defense is going to be better than people think if Lee can stay healthy.

The issue is, our most important players on both offense and defense are so brittle at this point. The collarbone deal is an injury that happens to QBs, thats not the worry. It's the back thats scary. He's the toughest fucker on the Cowboys, but at some point the body gives out. I hope he can avoid getting landed on weird/twisted around awkwardly and stay healthy for the next few seasons, but I don't feel good about it.

Dak is a gamer and looks very good for a rookie, but I haven't really seen him go through the progressions at all. Seems like he is pretty locked in on the first option, although he has been pretty good at seeing the blitz and knowing where to go with the ball. Basically, I think he has a bright future, but if we want to win big, I don't think he's ready for that.

I hate how so many people are incapable of being rational about Romo.

There is a difference between injury prone and not being tough. The guy won a game with broken ribs and a punctured lung.

The NFL has the ability to make even smart people seem retarded and irrational.

I don't understand people criticizing any starting QBs contract honestly. Its by far the most important position on the field, and its the NFL, there is usually a way to get out of a bad contract after a few years relatively unscathed. Even the Bradford deal makes sense to me if the Eagles are trying to be competitive this year while they rebuild. Although signing both Bradford AND Daniels makes zero sense.

I don't know if Osweiler is going to be a good NFL QB, but he was the best option for a Texans team that is ready to win now.

I think if Tony has to miss 6 games we can go 3-3 with Dak. We couldn't do that last year and it forced Tony to come back too soon.

Yeah, at least Dak has talent (unlike Cassel) and has balls (unlike Weeden). Dak has been so much better than I imagined he would be at this point. Dude is just a football player.

I don't know Osweiler's particular contract details. I just don't think he's gonna be very good and they're gonna be stuck paying him some big money.

I don't really care, I just want him on the field. At this point I think we would have to be happy if he plays 12 out of 16 games.

Shu there is no custom title

I think Dallas is probably a top 3 NFC team when mostly healthy (and w/Romo), but...

As good as Dak has looked, they better get a back up QB.

Dak miiight can win a game here or there, but to think he could hold down the ship for a month or more is not smart at this point. The film will get out and the regular season would be much different. That is not to say Dak can't be a good QB. I wouldn't rely too much on him this year though.

I actually kind of agree with Shu...

Although I don't know where these available, good back up QBs are
