All I know is, the o line sucked last year the first half of the season. They fired Paul Alexander and decided to let Marc Columbo run the show. Columbo was all about an "attacking" offensive line. Once they made that change, Collins was lights out. Word is Columbo loves him and he really wanted him back. He said he has the most attitude out of all the starters and fills the "enforcer" role.
I’m fine with the Collins deal. I’m also ready to kick the shit out of the giants on Sunday, let’s go boys
So hyped. Our first 3 games are incredibly winnable. I know that division games tend to be a crap shoot but I really hope we just maul all 3 teams
When I went out to training camp I liked a lot of what I saw. Lots of motion pre snap. Lots of interesting formations and a lot of using slot guys/running backs to mismatch against LBs etc. Obviously until the real thing we have no idea how effective itll be but it looked more interesting that Linehans shit lol
8 years 103 mil total averages out to under 13 mil per year. That and the fact that its 50 mil guaranteed means that we could conceivably let him go 4 years in if necessary. Obviously its a ton of money but I am not too upset by it. The window is open right now. All in now is the way to go IMO
Do people really want Dallas to not pay Zeke? Do they honestly think Dak will be successful without Zeke or an elite run game?
Yes. It does seem a year early to ask for a new deal, but you'd rather him walk? I'm just not sold on Dak as being the focal point of an offense.
This is true but I think something needs to be done with rookie deals. If he was playing on his second deal I'd agree with you but how much negotiating power do rookies have with their deals, almost none right? They're pretty much set with the pick spot. I feel like most of the people making this point would be totally fine running Zeke to death for 3 years and dumping him because for some reason the majority of fans still side with owners.
when you have the highest paid OL in the league, the thought is that the drop off from Zeke to a league average RB isn't worth more than about 75 cents. On top of the fact that Zeke will get suspended by Goodell sooner than later, you get an educated portion of the fanbase that doesn't want a Zeke extension
I think my most burning question of this season is if Kellen Moore will finally take advantage of Tavon Austin in his intended role of web back and also what the fuck is a web back
Every time I hear Tavon Austin’s name I laugh remembering Stephen Jones saying he would get 15-20 touches per game
I don’t think it matters. Dak is good enough they aren’t going to ever cut him. He wins games, and QBs can have flaws but if they are winning and the team is successful they aren’t getting cut. Just not the way the league works.
first part, they were negotiated up until the last collective bargaining agreement and they put a stop to it because they were getting insane. maybe on the next one they can figure something better out and i don't think you should consider that "siding with the owners." i'm siding with the team. what makes the team better? not paying your running back $15mm now on the bright side, the contract isn't as ridiculous as it sounds at first AND it doesn't really handcuff the team going forward
When you’ve got the pieces in place, might as well go for it - hopefully they’ve got something in there about huge fines or something when/if he gets suspended again for being a dumbass, but I doubt it
So you don't pay the guy, Dallas goes 7-9 or 8-8 and misses the playoffs. Pay the guy try to make a run at the Super Bowl and run zeke into the groud and cut him when your done with him.
