I'm not as high on Pablo driving the show as some. Still love Pablo but just not a fan when he is the lead. Same with Stu. I love Stu but as an example, God bless football can be hard to listen to.
fucking brutal. I had figured it was his mom considering they had scares with her in the past, it being his brother is absolutely awful.
When Dan mentioned that his Dad told his brother that they would see him soon just made me even more sad. Damn, life comes at us fast.
Man that was brutal, having delt with the loss of my father in a similar fashion and the trauma of the situation when someone is "actively dying"...it hit home. I can also relate to the odd beauty and grace of the experience Dan eluded to. Also appreciated the sentiment of Jason Isbell and "If we were vampires" lyrics. Grief is a bear and non-linear.
yea, that crushed me. Can't imagine the mental anguish of saying good bye to your son and confronting your own mortality at the same moment.
Yeah, parents should never have to bury their children. But like Dan was saying, getting to say goodbye is a gift. I couldn't imagine just getting a phone call.
had the same with my dad, shit is so hard. your line about grief is non-linear is so true, but at the same time I have no idea how Dan did the show today. also everyone finding out live on the show.
Sorry for your loss, but yeah, everything is still super raw for Dan. I believe "telling of one's story" is a phase of the grief cycle which would fit with Dan coming in to share today. It's cliche, but everyone grieves differently.
apparently this was a mistake made by Lebo and mike kept it anyway. One of the last pieces of art he did. changes everything about that story.
It was always hilarious. Also loved the Lebo helmet in the grid of death. He'd always pick some random team that didn't have a game for a couple months.
I mean except getting a tattoo for a university he never attended, I'm still gonna judge that part of Mike Ryan Ruiz.
Man. Dan talking about the last thing he did was feed his brother a glass of water edit: and then the tribute to him. Damn
I’m guessing during all the clips “name a professional football coach” “Peter Jackson?” that was hilarious
Oh man the Stu “…really?” Is so great. Agree with Dominique that the switch in voice to that “really” was incredible
This came in the mail today. Wish I had supported him when he was alive I just couldn’t ever decide what I wanted to buy.
I think the only person Izzy isn't behind in the rankings would be Samson at this point. Samson at least can occasionally bring some insight to the table though.
Fuck me. I was thinking of charlotte wilder. I don’t mind Izzy. He’s just not meant to drive the show
It seemed like all of that was real. Izzy coming back in to tell them to stop talking about him when they weren't was incredibly cringy.
Agreed. I was surprised Mike didn't stop that from happening but I don't know that he had a chance to. I would have figured they cut it from the podcast.
team Mike never talking ever edit: mostly joking but I think he's a much better producer and guy who does bits than driving show or giving his (mostly bad) takes.
