British show that has already aired some episodes. Starts on Peacock on 11/14 Ive seen the first 5 and it's awesome.
Watched 3 episodes tonight. Love how Jackal not necessarily a bad guy, he just does awful things for work and how Bianca isn’t necessarily a good guy, because she does awful things for work.
Well shit, now the episodes are running together in my head. But I think that's ep 8. Because that isnt the last scene of Ep 9.
Ive been torrenting them, but I discussed Ep 9 w a coworker who I swear just watches on peacock. When you guys said it wasnt on Peacock i was confused. Then Pharm says he swears he watched ep 9. This is strange
Ok I think the episode 9 was just up saying “coming soon” when I finished episode 8 bc the end of episode 8 was def the last thing I saw
Really liked the ending of episode 10. Spoiler Didn't like Bianca. Thought she was a bad person and I was hoping like hell she didn't catch/kill the Jackal. Didn't expect her to get killed off though. Death proved though that Jackal IS the protagonist of the series. Charles Dance has a date with the devil Glad they will be making another season.
Show was good. Wish they spent even 5 seconds more thinking through what River was supposed to be. Radical financial transparency?? Oooh, spooky!
Final thoughts. Spoiler Loved that Bianca died. Just because it was so unexpected. Cant wait to see the Jackal collect his debts. Very interested to get some back story how we went from blowing up his entire unit for moral reasons to ruthless killing innocent just because they're in the way of doing his job. Pretty much the only thing that was disappointing was how they just yada yada yada'd through some of his escapes. Especially the boat chase at the end of 9. And the car chase in 10. Part of the intensity of 9 was it looked like he was really fucked w everyone in pursuit and seemingly nowhere to hide. Was kind of ruined when 10 started and he was just walking around free
In the finale alone... Spoiler He was in three serious car wrecks and got stabbed, on top of other injuries he had before and around those car wrecks. And in the end he's just walking around with a couple scratches. That part was weird.
I found it very strange… Spoiler we went from car accident on way chasing his wife to the jump ahead in time. I assume there was more to that accident or it will be explained more next season
Was almost like they had too many ideas of what to do and just settled on that because they ran out of time to do better stuff.
The end of episode 9 is so gripping. The music was fucking perfect for it too. Yeah a couple quibbles but this series rocks. Redmayne is an elite level actor.
If it had more budget be awesome to get some more extended chase scenes but it was great either way. Seems crazy to stiff the guy you know went out of his way to kill the last guy who did so. He also just clearly saved you infinite money/embarrassment/whatever river would have caused. More interested in how his handler lady stays alive. She doesn't appear to have any real special skills. Hope season two comes next year, not 2026.
just binged this show over the last 3 days. thought it was really fucking good and I'm surprised it isn't more popular. very stylish, very gripping, and a finale that i did not expect (in terms of who died).
