he is being accused of sexual assault one case is forced oral which iirc is considered rape (forced penetration) I could be wrong about that. But, should I ask if you consider hiring a sex worker worse than sexual assault? It’s a crazy statement.
No, I said I wonder if our system came down harder on prostitution than a majority of the sexual assault complaints, mainly due to burden of proof. Fortunately it doesn't, and it was just a dumb thought. I still see a scenario, not necessarily this case, where you could dismiss a female's word that she was verbally or physically assaulted but charge for prostitution. Hopefully I'm wrong.
If he settles with 20+ women accusing him of sexual assault I have to imagine that the league doesn't let him play in 2021
What? No. Ban him or don’t ban him, but don’t base that on whether the cases settle. Weak, shitty cases settle all the time.
What would a settlement amount be for sexual harassment/assault for 20+ women for someone with such high earning potential? $500K/woman?
Lol at you if you think the nfl would ever do the right thing without a player physically incarcerated past the viable days of their playing career. Or a video. If he did this in an elevator he’d be out.
Once it got quiet I figured this was the direction it was heading. It would have cost him a hell of a lot less money and trouble if he had just settled with the original one instead of claiming he didn’t do shit and was going to fight it.
Not saying Watson is innocent but Buzbee has no case without any proof. Watson will be playing this season.
Going to be pricey as hell, but the sooner he does the more he protects his long term earnings. Curious to see if it does play out that way and say he is eligible to play at some point this season, does he even suit up for the Texans?
He hasn't provided every shred of evidence he has already so clearly he has no case. That's how that works right?
lots of people making assumptions and rushing to conclusions before hearing all the facts itt smh so much for innocent until proven guilty from the so-called tolerant left
A lot for you or me. Not that much for him. his game checks for 2021 are $650k each and in 2022 are $2.1m each he could probably resolve all the lawsuits for 1-2 of his 2022 game checks
Tbh I'm frequently shocked at how willing people (individuals, not corporations) are willing to settle for. $150-200k each seems absurdly low but I'd bet that's a reasonable estimate.
I also think at least a handful of these cases are probably worth more like $15-25k in nuisance value settlements and a couple are worth more like 300-500 the vast majority will be somewhere in the middle.
Basic cost analysis. How much are you going to spend on getting these settled with NDAs in your favor vs lawyer fees fighting it out in court. The former is almost always the smaller number.
Agreed, but we have video. Tobias noted concern state was it was for less, but video of something is always going to make it worse
