I have not been as impressed with the DC beer scene as I was in Atlanta, but I would agree with those 1 and 2. DC Brau and Atlas are decent local brews but haven't been to either of the breweries. Bigger issue for me has been that it's tough to get a good selection of different breweries in grocery/liquor stores. I assume it's because a lot of breweries outside the DMV area don't find it worth setting up DC distribution. Maybe it's just in my area but I've yet to find a beer store in the area of my regular routine where I'm happy with the selection.
Craft Beer Cellar on H has a great selection. Erica is the owner and she knows her shit and will order things as well. Whole Foods on P NW and H NE both always had good things. The WF in Alexandria carries Cigar City which is always a hit.
Yeah, WF on P is closest to me. Don't know that I've ever shopped for beer there but I'll check it out next time I'm in.
TBH I would love to buy on H street corridor but the lady isn't quite sold on it. Probably missed the opportunity there anyway, that neighborhood has really turned the corner. I came pretty close to signing a lease at 77 H but the area didn't seem great for walking the dog. Couple friends of mine from high school opened Farmbird over there. Check it out if you live close.
I eat farm bird once/week. It’s great but I wonder why they chose that to be their first location. Not as much foot traffic as other areas.
I want to check this out https://www.washingtonpost.com/expr...inarritus-virtual-reality-film-carne-y-arena/
hell yeah, the Caps finally made it to the Conference Finals. will be at Midlands chugging liters tomorrow night for the game.
Also, ate at Pineapple and Pearls last Friday. It was definitely the most pampered and exquisite culinary experience I've had but not worth $325 a head.
I can’t imagine how good a meal would have to be for me to have one meal with my girlfriend instead of buying an iPad
It’s an experience worth trying like once a year or on a very special occasion. It’s just money - might as well enjoy yourself using it.
Never been to the Dabney, but thinking of going in a few weeks for an anniversary. Yea/nay? It seems you need to make a reservation with a max of 2 weeks notice.
I’ve been three times. It’s good, but maybe a tad overrated. Get whatever the entree for two is - it’s been phenomenal every time.
No end in sight for this rain. I’m might kill myself. Come to think of it, my dog might kill me first with how much energy he has stored up from the past week.
Still house shopping --- rain makes it easier to eliminate places with leaky basements and bad roofs. #brightside
Expensive and moving quick, so exactly like how everyone has described the market to me. Apparently August is one of the worst months to try to start a lease.
City has been awesome past few weeks, wish I was a few years younger so being downtown tonight would be a reasonable option
Ovi throwing out first pitch tomorrow for Nats and cup in the house and tickets are cheap, I wish I was in town
would love to figure out a way to get into town for the parade without being destroyed by traffic or a ridiculous metro situation but I got nothing and think I'm just gonna have to deal with it.
I've never believed in having 2 teams and Orioles will always be my #1 despite being ran by fucking morons but Max Scherzer is one of my favorite people in the world and like the Nats a lot. Hated them a while(mostly because people told me I needed to root for them) but started to like them last year and would consider myself a borderline fan at this point. Sorry for my drunken posts tonight.
where do u live? the answer in most of these situations is bike- perfectly reasonable if you live in Arlington, Alex, or parts of Mont cty. Not so doable if you live in like Laurel or Manassas or some shit.
On a tangent from all Caps, but I'm fairly sick of restaurants shoving VOTE NO bullshit in my face every time I go to pay a tab in this city. I haven't decided how I'm going to vote on that yet (although I'm pretty sure it's going to be Yes) but this sort of behavior by restaurant owners is pretty obnoxious.
