Matt Law has ok info but always jumps the gun No idea if this Gabriel stuff is real. We have 7 CBs but few with any long term future
Not sure how accurate but I saw this floating around... Arsenal 1125 estimated employees. Liverpool has 850, Manchester United has 800, Tottenham has 560, Man City 550, Chelsea 800. Non football related staff: • Liverpool 675 • United 549 • Arsenal 547 • Tottenham 317 • Chelsea 283 • City 239 Before redunancies Arsenal employed almost 150 more than Tottenham, City and Chelsea. Coronavirus or not Arsenal would be looking for reduction either.
Issue seems to be that it’s the scouting department, recruitment policy almost completely dictated by agents
That narrative is weak. We’re going to a more analytics based structure & getting away from an old man sitting in the stands. So, progress
I don’t think the narrative is weak at all. However, that said if they mix in the Tierney, Martinelli and Pepes I’m fine with the approach. I also realize we won’t sign a Pepe every summer window.
I disagree. It’s lazy Click-bait journalism & naive to believe we are scouting & recruiting based solely on agent friendships. Or even more outlandish... who the agents tell us to buy.
All successful people & companies leverage their relationships to succeed. Raul & Co’s relationships are different that Wenger & his old guard. This realignment was always going to happen.
Where’s that from? Think the problem with the recruiting changes is that the agent narrative exists (weak or not), the club knows it exists, and yet they do little to change that narrative. (Assuming they care) still the biggest issue to me is the players being pissed about layoffs after their pay cut
Hard to argue there is no agent narrative looking at most recent transactions/speculated transactions.
I’m going to be sad when Ainsley Maitland-Niles leaves, as I have been a believer in his ability for a long time. Hope he will bring a good transfer fee £?
He should for his skill set. He certainly brings more value than Iwobi to the table. It’s just a matter on what that level of team will spend with the current environment and our ability to shop him. I’m pretty sure we’ll fuck it up.
Was it AMN that supposedly had a falling out with Arteta over effort in training or something along those lines?
I don’t think he’s destined to be a star for the club but he’s a valuable squad player. if it was a regular year and we got a big english premium like we did Iwobi I wouldn’t mind. I think there’s a chance he could become a solid regular under Arteta at best and a solid backup at multiple positions at worst. on what are probably very reasonable wages I think that’s probably worth more than what he will bring back.
Clive from AV stated that he was late a few times. From what I understand he always worked hard, just got pissed, changed his agent to one that’s specialty is getting players out of a club. With the garbage that we put out this season I can empathize with the guy being pissed he’s not getting minutes.
Skeptical but also excited about signing a young* Willian. Scrolling through Willian’s twitter signing post and see his wife (wow he married a much older woman, good for him I guess). ::Goes to check his age, 32?!?!:: This whole time I thought he was 25/26 max.
Best guess, Kronkes lawyer found some shady shit regarding the Pepe deal. don’t hate it though edit: I should have kept reading my Twitter feed
