I'm going to get rid of that damn Taurus .380 and trade it in on the glock either the .380 or that new slim 9mm.

I'm really bad about remembering the names of regular posters in threads I'm in. Couldn't remember all the Nashville guys, or this one.

Picked up a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 on sale from Amazon a while back and love it. I haven't gotten out with it as much as I'd like to yet but the times I have it's been great

Really like my Leupold VX-1 2-7x28 on my 10/22. Also, check out the DNZ game reaper base. Makes for a nice setup.

Purchased a Sig Sauer 938 to complement my M11A1. I actually like the little gun better.

Both 9mm. I think my next purchase will have to be a 1911.

My neighbors car was broken into last night where he kept a gun.

The cop was trying to act like I was a suspect, but ending saying don't worry about ya herd.

Almost bought a Dan Wesson Specialist today, was saddened by the fact it had a good size mark from shipping or mishandling and couldn't bring myself to drop $1,800 on a gun with cosmetic flaws. I prefer to put the markings on any new gun I buy.

So the glock single stack nine is not much smaller than the .380. I wonder what the price difference is going to be? I may just go with the .380 since it will be easier to get I imagine.

You'd entertain the idea of purchasing a Glock 380 over the smaller and thinner BodyGuard 380?

They make decent revolver and rifle grips, bottom feeders in the 1911 world.

In Recoil magazine (which is an awesome gun magazine by the way) it shows MSRP of $580. We're talking about the G43 right? Also from what I can tell the G43 is longer than the .380 (G42).

    SPECS G43 G42 G26
    Length 6.26" 5.94" 6.41"
    Width 1.02" .94" 1.18"

Had them on my P238 until I went back to the rosewood grips. They were solid.

Check out the Kahr CM9 and PM9 if you are looking for a solid concealable 9mm. Smaller than the glock.

If you are going to do skeet and/or sporting clays, I'd look at a semi-auto. Benelli and Beretta are the upper end of semi-autos. A couple that are budget friendly but still good guns are the Weatherby SA-08 and the Franchi Affinity. I've had good luck with Stoeger semis as well.

3rded. It's not fancy, but it works every time.

I'd advise against a semi-auto, especially for a new shooter. The single most effective thing I ever did to improve my accuracy was losing my semi-auto in the murky depths of that river and switching to a pump. It forces you to slow down, think about your shot, and not rely on the follow up shots.

Also, breakdown and cleaning is easier on a pump, especially for a first time gun owner.

I understand that for hunting, but for sporting clays and especially skeet, you need the quick follow up shot of a O/U or semi auto. If he's just busting clays with a thrower out at somebody's land, then yeah I'd vote pump every time.

I do skeet with multiple clays every time I go with my mossberg 500. Agree on the pump for a first shotgun. They're simpler and a great place to start for a new gun owner. Then once you've decided you want to get real into skeet/trap you upgrade to semi.

There is a gun show coming up at the end of the month and I want to get a Walther PPQ M2 Navy.

I found a gun shop selling one on Gun Broker. The shop is going to be attending a local gun show at the end of the month. I'll be able to see the gun in person. The problem is that I've never bought a used gun. The shop said it was lightly used. A new base model PPQ is about $100 more than the price of the used. The Navy isn't a base model. I probably wouldn't bother buying a used gun from just some vendor, but the gun shop is legit. At least according to the guy from my local shop.

Can anyone provide me with some helpful tips or things to look for on a used gun?

I own the PPQ M1 & suggest you do a little more research prior to making this purchase... especially if you intend on using it suppressed. There are lots of documented issues with f2f on the PPQ M2 Navy. I'd guess that is why a lightly used gun ended up back on the sales floor. I suggest starting at www.waltherforums.com

I love my PPQ btw. It's a great gun & favorite at the range
