I don’t agree they’re ugly, but they do look like caricatures of Guns. Kind of like a movie gun.

Well don't worry, the Phoenix blew up on me today, made it a dozen rounds before shot #13 went KAPOW and the extractor broke off and hit me in the face.

Oh, you trash poly gun owners, take shots all you want but this 3lb steel gun survived. I get a new barrel, extractor and use a new magazine and I'm back in business. If this were a poly gun, frame would be blown out and I'd be missing part of my hand.

I wish more respectable gun manufacturers would re-work the lemons of legacy manufacturers. I also wish it wouldn't cost so much when they do so, you don't want to know what that M&P cost with a Trijicon SRO.

I might be more excited about this Ed&P I ordered than any other gun I've purchased. Not sure why, maybe it's all the unknowns. I haven't seen one, held one, never tried the trigger, etc. Hard for me to get excited about a 1911 when I own so many already. Are there any other poly red dot guns I should look into? Ed Brown claims these MPs can take 30 days to make, wouldn't mind getting something else to tide me over while I play the waiting game. Anyone working over the Springfield XD series?

A Kansas City, Kansas, company called CZ USA LLC is suing Vista Outdoor Inc. after a failed attempt to acquire a firearms brand.

CZ USA is a wholesale provider of firearms that sells to authorized dealers and not individuals. It sells handguns, rifles, shotguns, suppressors and other items. CZ USA attempted to acquire an unspecified firearms brand from Vista Outdoor Inc., a leading outdoor products provider that logged $1.76 billion in sales in 2020. Vista Outdoor (NYSE: VSTO), based in the Minneapolis area, owns dozens of brands, including Overland Park-based Bushnell, Remington, Federal, Bell, Camelbak and others.

In August 2018, CZ USA entered into a confidentiality agreement with Vista Outdoor, enabling the companies to engage in confidential discussions about the proposed transaction. In November 2018, the parties entered into an expense reimbursement agreement that governed the due diligence period for the proposed transaction, folding those expenses into the transaction if it occurred and requiring reimbursement from Vista if it fell through.

The agreement allowed CZ to be reimbursed up to 50% of any reasonable out-of-pocket costs and expenses incurred during the evaluation and negotiation of the potential transaction, to a maximum of $1 million.

CZ USA said it submitted a purchase price affirmation notice to Vista Outdoor on Dec. 14, 2018. The expense reimbursement agreement required Vista to enter into a definitive exclusivity agreement within five calendar days of receiving the purchase price affirmation notice, a deadline Vista did not meet, the lawsuit alleges. On Dec. 31, 2018, CZ USA requested payment of $992,424 in expenses, which is 50% of the $1.98 million it spent during the due diligence period. CZ USA said it sent additional requests for payment in January and February of 2019, to no avail, according to the lawsuit.

CZ USA filed suit against Vista Outdoor on Oct. 22, 2021, in federal court in Kansas, claiming breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and breach of implied good faith and fair dealing.

Vista Outdoor has not yet filed an answer to the complaint and did not reply to requests for comment in time for publication.

Ken Barnes and Taquiero Smith of Barnes Law Firm LLC in Kansas City represent CZ USA.

Phoenix Update: Extractor did not break. The gun responded the way it was designed to. It's apparently made so that if something happens and you have an out of spec round or something goes wrong all that pressure from the round has somewhere to go and doesn't blow up the gun (and your hand). I still get a new Phoenix though, so that's pretty sweet. They even offered me the more expensive optics cut version. I declined that and went with a traditional DA/SA version with no optic cut.

Ordered an Accuracy X Multi-Sight slide and kit. With it I'll be able to turn any of my old 1911's into optics shooting bullseye masterpieces.

Still waiting on those poly race/optic gun recommendations from you guys. Does anyone on here compete? Do you need some sort of license for these matches or do you just show up and dominate? I see there's lots of divisions. Is there a bullseye/accuracy class or is everything just speed based?

    • Open Division
    • Optic/electronic sights are permitted
    • Ports/compensators permitted
    • No minimum trigger pull
    • No maximum size of firearm
    • No restrictions on holster position

    • Standard Division
    • No optic/electronic sights are permitted
    • No ports/compensators permitted
    • Minimum calibre for major 10mm/.40
    • No minimum trigger pull
    • Restrictions on holster positions
    • Must fit wholly within the confines of the IPSC box

    • Classic Division
    • No optic/electronic sights are permitted
    • No ports/compensators permitted
    • No minimum trigger pull
    • Restrictions on holster positions
    • Must fit wholly within the confines of the IPSC box
    • Must be based on and visibly resemble the classic 1911-genre design

    • Production Division
    • No optic/electronic sights are permitted
    • No ports/compensators permitted
    • Minimum trigger pull 2.27 kg (5lbs)
    • Restrictions on holster position
    • Firearm must be approved by IPSC

    • Revolver Division

I've had multiple FN's but I've never understood why people worship that brand.

As for Springfield, after the anti-gun political donations lots of people refuse to own anything by them. Personally I don't care who they donate money to, I don't buy many Springfields because most of their releases the last few years have sucked. Looks like the recent Hi-Power and Emissary guns are getting good reviews. Fuck those sights on the Emissary. Just when you thought u-notch couldn't get any worse.

I get that Glocks look like plastic toy guns but you're a fucking gun shop owner, wtf? No way it happened as stated, gotta be covering up for murder.

Maybe it's just me but dudes name feels like it's missing a vowel.

    https://www.counton2.com/news/local...mistook-glock-for-bb-gun-fatally-shot-friend/

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A Berkeley County gun shop owner fatally shot his friend after mistaking his Glock 17 for a bb-gun, according to an incident report.

Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputies responded Tuesday to Coastal Firearms on Cainhoy Road where they found Stefan Mrgan with a gunshot wound to the face. Mrgan died from his injury.

The owner of the store, Jon Whitley, told deputies that he mistook his Glock for a bb-gun and accidentally shot his friend and part-time employee.

A witness said that the men were talking normally when he heard a loud bang and then saw Mrgan fall to the ground. The witness ran to Mrgan, secured Mrgan’s weapon, and began first aid until EMS arrived, according to the report.

Deputies took Whitely’s firearm as evidence and conducted a search of the store. The store is “temporarily closed” according to signage posted on the windows. It is unclear if or when it will reopen.

No charges have been filed as of Friday.

Mrgan’s widow told News 2 that their family is in shock. She described the incident as an anomaly, saying that most gun shops have strict safety standards. But this deviation from those standards left three children without a father.

Mrgan was no stranger to guns, having served in the Army for 15 years as a special forces sniper. He was big on gun safety, teaching even his six-year-old child about the power of the weapon.

He was also a retired fire fighter, a scuba diver, a husband, and a dad.

Mgran’s widow said that she wants people to know about the man that her husband was and the human consequences that accidents can have.
