Would be for small game with that gun. Friend has a .22 and seems to like it. What suggestions would you guys have for an AR? Eventually want to hunt bigger game when I get a good handle of how it shoots
It was me, and I bought it with that same deal, mostly because I was in the market for the reflex anyways and I like the fastfires. Even posted it in here, must be your alzheimers
I wouldn't get an AR in .22 unless you're just dying to have one. Get a Ruger 10/22 or Remington 597 for small game and then an AR in a larger caliber (.223, .308, or one of the 6.5's).
What wes tegg said. AR 22s are fun if you just want to go out and ping some targets, but so is a .233 and you can do a lot more with a .223.
I don't think you could go wrong with either. I have a Remington and a Marlin papoose survival rifle, but I've had other Rugers and like them a lot.
general purpose, practice maybe hunting. I'm drawn to lever action for whatever reason and I'm not at the point where I'm looking into an AR just yet. I'd be ok with a bolt action also.
Lever action & bolt action make fine hunting rifles, but wouldn't classify them as "general purpose". I suppose a lever would be fine for home defense , but not my first choice. Henry 30-30 or Marlin 336 are the way to go in a lever action. If you opt for Marlin, I'd try to find something used (pre 1983). Your best bet for all-around caliber is something in 223/556... rounds are cheap & readily available. There are options other than the AR, if you don't want the tactical look/feel. I went that route myself & own a Ruger Mini-14
Great advice. Never considered the Mini 14 but that looks like a potential contender since it's so short. The rifle for me is the missing piece in my collection.
My SpecterDR arrived today! Not only is it worth the $1,900 I paid, but it'd be worth the $2,350 non-sale price. Feel like I need a Tavor to put it on. Probably gonna end up being my GOAT optic.
Just bought this. Like the sale price a lot https://m.costco.com/BIGHORN-Safe-1...-20"D---Electronic-Lock.product.11642080.html
You looking to carry inside waist, outside, ankle? Basically what park of the body are you wanting to have the gun on you?
For what those guys make an hour he'd probably not only bring it in, he'd unbox it, set it up, fill out your warranty card, and help you organize your collection in it.
Any opinion on the Smith & Wesson Sport 2 AR? Seems like a good AR for someone just getting into that style without breaking the bank right away. Looking for something to do some hunting and shooting around with. Or any suggestion for a good AR that won't break the bank would be appreciated
You are correct, it's good. There are some insane deals on really good rifles right now. Aero 15 complete and the ruger AR are both about 500 also. Check slickguns for deals.
Decided on the glock 43. Probably going to immediately replace the sights, any suggestions? Also may replace the trigger, any suggestions on one?
Thoughts on these? http://shop.opticsplanet.com/amerig...plusbox-beta&gclid=CIH0-vXe0dICFRc7gQodjYoKxg
Anyone shoot FN? Care to explain the attraction to said brand? Is it just because they've been around for 100+ years? Glock may actually have them beat in handgun ergos, and that's sad. I imagine this is like holding onto a 2x4. Scars seem very popular. Uglier than bullpups and $3,000+. Why? Speaking of ugly, what in fucking christ is this?
I have an FNS 40 I bought on a steal. I like the gun, switched out the grips because the factory grip is fucking awful. They also have a factory here which I like to support.
