This guy has never seen band of brothers? What has to be one of the best, if not the best war movie/series ever created?
So we don't have any more confusion, I've tuned out everything military related since around the age of 7 after being forced to watch M*A*S*H as a child and listen to my fathers stories of being in the Navy. I have not seen Band of Brothers, Private Ryan, Platoon, nadda.
If there's any way I can help you guys get over this please let me know. In the meantime, if you're looking to talk about the military or tv shows relating to such I can tag Todd for you.
Got the recce upper back from ADCO firearms. Had the barrel chopped so that the suppressor sits flush with the RAS. Cut down on some unnecessary weight
So I picked up the Springfield XD in .45 today. Price was too good to walk away from considering the magazine promo they're running. Guy at the store is trying to talk me into cerakote-ing the gun. Does anyone have any availability experience with this? Is it worth it?
I thought he was just trying to sell me something but I frankly don't know anything about it so I thought I'd ask.
I'm not a Cerakote guy myself, I've only done it to one gun and that was because the bluing was nearly completely wore off in places.
My Georgia CCL finally arrived. On one hand, I am frustrated that it it took 10 weeks to get here. On the other hand, it's a bit worrisome how easy it was to obtain: no class, no test, no range time required... I literally paid $65, got fingerprinted, and passed a background check. Guess we're preparing our Georgians for the next Sherman.
You can get one in Alabama the same day without any test or training, and we're actually working to remove even that process. http://www.al.com/opinion/index.ssf/2017/03/internal_sheriffs_association.html
You want to be x1,000,000 I waited in the car for 15 minutes for the wife and I, came back in the lady said she'd been done for 8 minutes. Its barely been out of the nightstand three times
I think our requirement is pretty fair. It's a day in class with a little over half being classroom time and half being range time. Then you have to pass the background check and wait 4-6 weeks iirc.
As much as I enjoy my guns and being able to get a CC, it's definitely ... it's unreal how easy it is to get a permit in AL, and other states. Not even factoring in open carry shit heads.
The way it should be and was intended to be. Shouldnt have to pay the government 65 so i can carry a gun. Its bull shit.
Unless you're going to be exposing it to the elements every day and not cleaning it daily, it's not worth the money.
Picked up my first CZ today. Apparently it's one of their competition guns, I'm just enamored with the 2½lb trigger pull and 21 round capacity. The grips will have to go though.
There was a kid in the shop that felt the need to chime with, "you know, for that much you can buy two new Glocks".
I should add that I looked at a couple custom Glocks called Zev or Zed or something, looked like they'd be pretty sweet shooting pistolas. At least for 2k+ they should be.
I promised myself I'd never buy another Glock, gonna do my best to stick to that. Almost bought a FNX 45 Tactical with the CZ, but the paint job seemed messed up, like it was thin and discolored in a couple spots.
Too gaudy for me. TV personalities never come up in 1911 circles, luckily. I'd actually rather have one of those fancy custom Glocks.
