Here's a happy little ditty about our favorite evil black rifle that's been getting some bad press lately.
Won't allow steel cased or steel core? Steel core bullets will damage indoor ranges backstop, but I've never had a problem shooting steel cases with all lead bullet before. Steel cases will wear your extractor out faster than brass, but it's not enough to be concerned about, IMO. I've shot thousands of rounds of steel .223 and 9mm and have yet to have an issue.
They don't allow steel casings at any indoor range in Jax. I have 2000+ rounds of the exact 9mm Tulammo that he posted, as I'm not concerned with wear & tear either. They are cheap as hell & put holes where they are pointed, just like brass. I didn't want him to make the purchase without checking his local range... all mine are just sitting in the safe waiting for a Zombie attack
One of my bulldogs decided it would be a good idea to use one of my duty mags as a chew toy. Side note, Glock mags are not dog-proof.
Been considering this purchase for awhile, do to the euro mag release... I have the PPQ & xDs want to take the "thinking" out of any scenario & seconds lost searching for mag release might matter at some point.
One of the ranges I frequent doesn't allow steel case. They had a fire in the rifle bay a few years ago and they said their insurance company won't allow it because the steel case was a suspected cause of the fire. I don't know if there's any truth to that or if it's just BS so they don't have to separate out the steel before recycling all of the spent brass. My AR will cycle steel without any problems. My pistol, on the other hand, not so much. Once it gets warm, the steel expands and I get frequent FTE. I still buy .223 Wolf and Tula for plinking at the outdoor range. It's cheap and it goes bang. Just gotta make sure I'm diligent with cleaning.
I don't get that. I get steel core contacting metal backstops = sparks, I don't get the case causing it.
I figure if I can't get the job done in 7 rounds I'm dead anyways. I traded in my 23 because I'd rather have some rounds instead of none because I'm not comfortable carrying a gun too big for my body.
Not sure. New ones go for 25-30. These have all seen very light use. Somewhere around 15-20, at 20 I'd throw in shipping. Preferably I'd like to get rid of all 3. I also have 2 g19 15 round magazines.
I got the 9mm. I plan on going to the range this weekend. The gun is the most comfortable pistol I've held, considering my hands aren't big at all, so that was a huge driving factor.
I got a G43 9mm last September. I love this little thing. Pumped around 200 rounds through it since with no problems. Plinking with inexpensive FMJ rounds is ok, but taking it out and popping full soda cans, apples, whatever with the hollow points is awesome. It feels very comfortable and the recoil is nada. Great for cc or self defense, which is what I have it for now all the time. Like said above, if the situation where I'd pull it can't be handled with 6 rounds, I'm not whipping it out, I'm outta there.
Yup. Also got a pelican imposter case from the PX from my buddy. Will hold two ars without the optics on so I'll have to mark where they sit on the rail. $60 instead of like $300.
Have any of you guys shot m203 type 37mm grenade launcher? I could pick one up for a couple hundred bucks. Not sure it is worth it though.
I sent my paperwork in for my first suppresor a couple weeks ago for 5.56. Hoping to get the stamp back in February sometime. This is my first try at an NFA item with my trust. It's the fast detach that screws onto the flash hider so I can switch between guns easily if I want. Quite excited. http://www.advanced-armament.com/M4-2000_p_409.html
I understand that you can own the launcher and shoot smoke grenades, but explosive grenades are illegal or hard to get.
I guess buying one for smoke grenades would be cool, wouldn't buy one if I couldn't shoot at all though.
that's sorta the reason I asked. $240 is cheap for one, but would it even be worth it just to shoot smoke and flares? I saw that there is an insert that you can get to fire 12 gauge rounds as well.
For that cheap I'd probably go for it. I'd want to make sure it fired though which I imagine is difficult unless the seller has some rounds.
Still depleting my stock from the last ammo scare. Picking up 3-5 boxes every time you swing by WalMart adds up over the course of a year or two. I didn't bother to watch el Guapo's speech last night. Anything in it he hasn't said before?
I have, they're pretty cool. My friend who has it said it's like 10 bucks a pop on the grenades, though I've never actually looked myself
Only thing I caught that he said differently was if someone is on the no fly list, they should not be allowed to buy a semi automatic weapon. Was his lead off point, then went through the additional points of it should be more difficult for individuals to buy assault rifles etc. Nothing really new, and nothing he really will be able to get through a GOP led Congress.
Well I didn't really know what I was doing but I figured at $60 if I mess it too bad I'll buy another case. NoleNBlue that's the case I was talking about.
They are fun as hell to shoot. Not really any use as your personal defense weapon, at least not if you're talking about the .50cal and not the .45 baby eagle
I don't own any guns. I like to think of myself as someone who would own guns. I'd like to have a gun for self defense but at the same time I think if push came to shove I'd fuck a situation that needed a gun for self defense up even worse by having a gun. What do you have for self defense and how often do you carry it?
I carry the new glock 43 9mm. I carry it pretty much everywhere I go. It's not that I expect to get into that situation or want to. I just like to know that if needed, I have it. Hope to god I never have to use it though.
