So the little Colt I'm eyeing slide has a plum color to it. From what I read this was due to errors in the original bluing process, anyone know if this affects the value?
I know less about collectible guns than I do about shooting guns, but my gut says get it for cheap and shoot the shit out of it.
I mean I'm probably gonna get it either way unless something else catches my eye, I was just wondering if it would make it easier or harder to negotiate the price based on the slide plumming.
Need some feedback on 45ACP ammo for the range. What should I expect to pay per round? How dirty is this Winchester white box stuff, and am I going to lose any savings once I factor in shipping? https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/pro...do?sortby=costPerRoundAscend&refType=&from=fn
I like Perfacta for .45. They sell it at Wal Mart if you can get it (it's sold out a lot) but it's cheap and I've never had a problem with it.
I only shoot good ammo in my 1911 but that's more because it's a unique piece (and I dread stripping it down for a complete cleaning). I shoot steel ammo in my AR's all the damn time at the range and just basic range rounds in my Glock except the home defense rounds that I hope to never use.
Picked up some Federal Ammunition aluminum case FMJ from Walmart for $0.29 per round. Hope it doesn't blow up in my face? Also, seems like wallyworld not getting le Turkish Perfecta ammo anymore for some reason.
Bought the shield 9mm from PSA. $274.99 after $45 coupon code and free shipping plus I get the $75 rebate.
I buy it by the case from SG and recently I was paying $12.50 a box for Blazer Brass and Winchester white box 45. Federal red box is dirty, Blazer and Winchester are pretty clean, Remington green box reigns supreme but you don't find that for Win/Blazer price.
Not sure.. I put about 2700 or so into it so I'm hoping I can get that back (I'm not include buying the original rifle in that number)
Too hot to do anything this weekend, triple digits. My sight tool arrived UPS yesterday so I changed sights on the HK P30L. Love it, will likely go on a sight changing spree.
Need some recommendations on polish to use on a stainless gun. Also need some sites for S&W Model 59 accessories.
Had to send my 1911 back already Rear site adjustment screws were locked up. Anyway, I did look at these mags while I was at the range today. Did you mean "Chip" as in Chip McCormick?
I'd be the first to admit it if I fucked up my firearm. Unfortunately the screws showed some wear when I bought it. Didn't think to test out the adjustments before purchasing, and didn't want to push it when they wouldn't turn.
This photo may help understand more. Your standard 1911 mags will have a follower like you see on the far right, cheap unreliable garbage. the Tripp hybrids are my favorite, followed by the ever popular Wilson mags.
And your precious Chip McCormick standard mags (second from left), look an awful lot like the cheap garbage on the far right. I've flat out asked the Chip fanboys over at the 1911 forum what makes their favorite magazine (Chip) any different from a standard stock 1911 magazine and they cannot give me a reason. They don't even try, they just ignore the question.
Yah but new magazines aren't flashy (I'll probably get myself one Tripp Cobra once I get my 1911 back and get some range time.) What's the newest on the Hearing Protection Act? I know there's no clear answer, but it's an interesting position to find myself in wanting to get a suppressor but certainly not wanting to do so if I can save the $200 tax.
But honestly, if I had my first gun purchase to do over again, I'd have purchased a Glock in 9 mm. I really love my Springfield XD Gen 2, and it's my most accurate firing pistol. However, with the Glock factory 20 minutes down the road, and being able to walk in, hand over the firearm and wait on it if there ever was an issue, it's a no-brainer.

I'm 99% certain he used a Glock in one of the very early seasons to whack someone. I'll have to go back and re-watch the entire series. I'll report back.
