Got my Taurus Model 85 in today. What a piece of shit, will be fun to mess around with though and have as a glove box gun. Can't really complain though for $160 after the rebate (plus the FFL transfer fee.) Also got my complete pistol lower in and am starting to figure out what I want to do about the upper. I like sticking with 5.56/223 and everything I read says to stick with 10" barrel at that caliber. 300 blackout seems to be suited for the shorter 7" or 8.5" barrels I guess? I like this setup from PSA as it comes with the KAK flash can and the 12" m-lok rail all for $300: http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-...ok-slant-12-freedom-upper-with-bcg-or-ch.html
Everyone seems to be giving PMags awat these days. I have 12 and haven't fired a single round through my AR yet... think that's plenty. I love that scope for $140 though.
Somebody buy this for me so my wife doesn't know. I'll venmo you the money. Srs. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/mobile/product/719008913/redirect
Just ordered the Ultimak forward rail for my Mini14. Now the decision... Red dot,or traditional glass scout scope
Would I really appreciate any difference between a 10" barrel and a 7" barrel in 5.56? It's just for a range pistol/home defense.
Looking for a Springfield range officer elite but can't find anyone in my area that sells them. Really want to try the trigger out prior to buying. Anyone have one or used one?
I purchased the regular Range Officer in stainless 45. From the looks of the spec sheets though, they're not the same trigger.
7" will be much much more temperamental about ammo. I have both and can assure you that you better keep that fucker clean and oiled.
10" all the way. Like blue said, 7" will be pretty finicky with ammo. Gun in the video is 10" (10.3" to be exact): AN/PVS-30 on my Mk13
What round were you shooting in that video, Watasha ? They were surprisingly quiet for that short of a barrel and a standard muzzle brake.
Just some run of the mill Federal M183 - 55gr pills. Must have been the iPhone dampening the sound as that gun isn't quiet by any stretch of the imagination unless the suppressor is on (that flash hider is for a Knight's NT4). Even then, it's still too loud to shoot extensively without ear pro.
At a gun store with my brother. He just bought a Glock 23 in .40 and a S&W MP Sport II for $1093 including backgrounds, not including $100 mail in rebate from SW. Steal.
If and when I buy another glock I'm absolutely having my buddy buy it and get me the blue line discount.
Only way to go, especially in a state like NJ. Just for shits and giggles I went into the website of another local gun store that sells to general public (we go to a tactical supplier that sells to active law enforcement and public safety personnel only), and had he gone there he's spending like 1300. $200 savings, plus the other $100 rebate buys a nice amount of ammo.
Sorry, meant to link it. http://www.eotechinc.com/rebates-promotions EOTECH products eligible for the rebate program include: $75 rebate – HWS, HHS, G33 $125 rebate – Vudu 1-6X $175 rebate – Vudu 2.5-10X or 3.5-18X
A lot of people don't like them but I've never had an issue with mine. I've had it on and off my rifle, had it fly on airlines when I would take it with me and I've never had an issue with it holding 0 or getting it back on 0 and it holding after travel, removing it, etc. Plus it has a freaking biohazard symbol reticule.
$0.25 per round for 223 at PSA through that Federal mail-in rebate with free shipping: http://palmettostatearmory.com/amer...aign=Daily+Deal+Email&utm_content=12:00+Email
I shoot with aimpoint and Eotech and both are very effective, day and night. The technical comparisons are getting a little silly in my opinion - at this point it just boils down to personal preference.
Went to the range with my brother today. He let me give it a go on his SW MP 15. That's a really nice rifle, doesn't kick much at all. Not a fan of the sights though.
Just purchased a m&p 15. Need some advice on recommendations on either a red dot or scope and any other improvements I should make over stock. Primarily will just be range shooting I short and medium distances no more than 300 yards
Find a red dot you like. Vortex has excellent options under 200 and most guns stores carry them to check out what you like and don't. Slick.guns always has deals on them
