I liked the finale with it being mostly Barry weighing what he'd wanted to change his whole life and being able to do so against changing everything in his life. Eddie dying was spoiled for me before I watched it in a text from a friend but I was really into the episode that it still shocked me when it happened. Good to see Cavanagh will be back next season, he was one of the best villains in a TV show for me. Only thing I didn't like about the last month of the season was I felt like they tried to cram too much into last week's episode. Other than that great first season. I don't read the comics so what was that helmet that came through the wormhole before Reverse Flash said that was the signal it was time for him to leave.
"We are going to introduce a few more speedsters next year and a bunch more villains. How they and those villains come about is part of the surprise of season two. We're really excited. [Executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] and myself and [executive producer] Geoff Johns and the writers, the cast, the crew, the directors - we are so proud of this season of television. It really is a high mark for all of us and we feel a great deal of pressure and anxiety to live up to it, because it's been so well received. As proud as excited as we are about everything we've done this year, we really are just as proud and excited for all the things we are planning coming up and hopefully people will continue to take this ride with us." Obviously they hinted heavily at Jay Garrick. I'd guess Bart Allen is a likely candidate as well. Wally is unlikely, IMO.
I fully expect to get Kid Flash in some iteration and have them start to build up the Speedster family/friends.
Gaddamn that was a great episode. Gustin absolutely killed it. Thought Cavanaugh was really strong too. Flash S1 overall was fantastic. I'm still on too much a high from that episode to be able to analyze anything beyond just heaping compliments everywhere
I liked my ending better in regards to Eddie. Then as soon as they acknowledged he was his great, great, great grandfather it was just inevitable. Overall it was an amazing episode.
Wells said he would be born in 136 years, if he's from 500 years in the future, then he's 364 or so years old?
I think in the comics something to either do with being a metahuman or the Speedforce extends their life as well. Need to get TheGrifter to weigh in on this though.
I thought Jeremy Jahn's review of this season was pretty spot on. Granted, I really enjoy watching his reviews, so I'm partial.
Fresh off their scoop that The Flash is looking to cast their own Felicity Smoak-type character for season 2, TV Line is now reporting on MORE additions to the show. Fans are already speculating that the description could be for Jay Garrick, who was previously teased in the epic season one finale. Read for yourself and let us know what you think in the comments below. In addition to Wendy – is casting the season-long role of a classically handsome, square-jawed hero in his 30s to early 40s, a slightly cynical man “with an edge.” The casting call lists the character as “John Clark,” which is obviously fake/a nod to the DC Comics letterer. Though I must wonder if one of Clark’s works hints at the character being introduced…. If David Rappaport is indeed looking to fill the role of Jay Garrick in this description, they're making the character a touch younger than how he appears in the comics. In DC lore, Garrick is typically depicted as a man in his 50s, who has undergone various, unintentional aging treatments to appear younger than his actual age of ~90. Of course, in the New 52 reboot of the enitre DC Comics line, Jay Garrick was reimagined as a recent college graduate, just embarking on his superhero career. Perhaps The Flash is combining various aspects of both of these versions? That is, if this casting description is indeed for Garrick.
I'm doing this right now. There's so many little things that I didn't pick up on when I first watched the early episodes. I like the scenes even more now between Barry and Dr. Wells. His little quips foreshadowing what eventually happens are awesome.
I posted an episode guide in the Arrow thread yesterday that finishes out season 3, so check it out as well
The actor that plays Barry is very underrated. He kills them emotional, crying scenes involving his mom and dad
Adam "Edge" Copeland cast as Atom-Smasher http://comicbook.com/2015/07/16/the-flash-to-introduce-wwes-adam-edge-copeland-as-atom-smasher/
'THE FLASH' CASTS ITS KID FLASH The CW's various superhero shows continue casting actors to play familiar comic book characters, with "The Flash" hiring Australian actor Keiynan Lonsdale ("Insurgent") to play Iris's nephew Wally West, who in the comics eventually becomes Flash's sidekick Kid Flash — and, for a long stretch starting in the mid-'80s succeeded Barry Allen as the Flash himself. Lonsdale will become a series regular sometime in the winter. In the press release, "Flash" producer Andrew Kreisberg said, “Just like when we met Grant (Gustin) for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero. We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show.” Read more at http://www.hitfix.com/the-dartboard/the-flash-casts-its-kid-flash#WktS5CXqiPr3TXMJ.99
Geoff Johns is DC's equivalent of Kevin Feige right now. Everything he touches is gold. I'm very excited for the Batman solo film he and Affleck are working up.
In the comics, she has an older sister who is Wally's mom. I guess being her cousin would be more plausible in the TV series since they never establish a sister.
Has anybody been watching Gotham? I just binged season 1 on Netflix and started season 2. It's a really good show, imo.
reminds me that i need to set up my antenna, b/c TWC in my area doesn't give me the CW in HD. bastards
it's in HD at my parents place on Directv. i just don't understand it. all signals now are digital, so why aren't they showing it in HD if it's broadcasting in HD?
Really enjoying this season, but did I miss where the team suddenly decided they are ok with killing bad guys?
You got the like for "Other Barry" And I have no idea. My first thought was wells, but that doesn't mean anything
