Finished Republic of Thieves. Spoiler I liked this series but it's a step down from other fantasy series Ive read somewhat recently. I love the characters. Locke, Jean, Father Chains ect. The first book was great because The Falconer was such a great villian and there were high stakes. The villians in the 2nd and 3rd books were very meh. Thought Red Seas under Red Skies was pretty meh. It had good pirate action, but no good villians to really press them. Republic of Theives - it was good to get back story and some more lore, but the entire plot about an election I still dont know why the Bondsmagi cared that much about. However, it seems like the 4th book is sent to be a banger. Locke learning about his past some more, and the Falconer is back. IM here for that. But now IM w the rest of you waiting for it. That really sucks for you guys who read these as they came out.
It should be said that the first three were basically set up to the story he originally wanted to tell.
