Dope music. Well acted, some rough Jimmy Smitts moments aside. Herizen Guardiola is fire. Love the resistance Shao has to using vocals, considering eventually producers will work double time to figure out their "hooks". I thought the straddled the different faultlines well here.
Do you think Will Smith and Jada Pinkett just cringe watching their children act? Because I do. 20 minutes in - this show has a bad case of A.D.D. already. edit - the older one is pretty good. Jaden is still trash.
I can count on one hand the amount of shows I haven't even finished an episode that I started but watched the first 30 minutes or so and I just couldn't get into this. Maybe I'll try again later but the meandering storyline, if there even is one, just didn't work for me.
The first 30-40 minute of the pilot were rough, but I ended up really enjoying it. And there actually is an interesting story in there. Im looking forward to watching more.
This show is kind of a mess and all over the place, but in a fun way. Dude that plays Cadillac is great. Spoiler Mylene is hot AF (she's 19 so we're in the clear) but fuuuuuuck her. She is all about herself only is cool to Zeke when she wants something from him. Anytime there's something he wants or needs to do, she's a bitch to him

Seen two episodes, loving this show. It has flaws sure but being about NYC in the 70s and 80s and about hip hop music, I pretty much knew I was gonna love it
Really enjoyed it. Wanted more. The first Ep is a bit rough because Baz Luhrmann makes 1.5 hour music videos, but the other directors and progression of the story line hooked me. Really like several of the actors, especially the crew itself even though Jaden simply played himself. Between this and Stranger Things Netflix has had a hell of a week for me.
Just got around to getting started on this. Criticism of the pilot is right on, it's clunky and tough to get into. But the last 10 minutes really get going, and I'm excited to keep watching. Looking forward to season 2 this spring too.

Really hope we get more, I doubt it, didn't realize it had the 2nd biggest Netflix budget. It's certainly cheesy, but I love it. I'd love to see the crew fracture and do solo stuff, or re-join and find fame. And I really want to see Mylene naked.
Just finished both seasons. Not perfect, but definitely entertaining. Want Mylene and the hispanic friend of hers.
