I'm fucking hooked on this song right now. That dirty industrial synth is so sexy, and they implement the metalcore elements within it so well imo. Just stupid catchy.
First it was Billie Eilish posting It Dies Today, and then Phoebe stepped her game up (4th pic) Dying Wish and Foreign Hands bringing that 2000s metalcore sound back and with brutal breakdowns
Pretty pleased with these set times, not a bunch of overlap of all the bands I want to see. Saturday is fucking ruthless with old school bands and the newer bands like Drain, Scowl, Mindforce, Zulu, Foreign Hands, Gel, etc
Saw Dying Wish last year open for TDWP. Very good stuff. She and Mike are apparently a musical power couple.
Thanks for posting. Unlocking some nostalgia. Really enjoyed the mid 00s era of this genre. Was around my mid 20s when I was still discovering my musical tastes, going to a ton of shows, etc. good times.
i remember this one coming out. it was a game changer for my musical tastes. definitely what got me into the at the gates metalcore sound. that eventually got me listening to the black dahlia murder which eventually led to me listening to the disgusting goregrind that i enjoy today
this was the first thing i listened to that wasn’t radio metal. the overt christianity didn’t age well for me personally but i still love all these songs. and the dan seagrave cover art is such a flex.
definitely make sure you catch the no cure set. they’re my homies, especially the guitarist aesop. she kicks ass.
Only familiar with a couple previous Spiritbox songs, but I really like this one they put out yesterday. My favorite thing I've heard from them.
Silent Planet and Garrett do no wrong. Easily one of my most loved bands in the genre. Anyone that likes metalcore should do a deep dive into their discography old to recent. Spoiler
Album prior to ^, The Night God Slept, is a good one Then they follow it up with Everything Was Sound
Broken record post as I've listed off a handful of other albums that I hold dearly - Happiness in Self Destruction by the Plot in You is another one of them Spoiler Newer stuff
Yeah they're sick. Gonna see them with their fellow Aussies...Parkway, Amity Affliction, and Northlane next month.
I'm a total setlist.fm person, but seeing the opening night of Prada and Counterparts next week. Won't need one on Friday for this bad boy though
If you can get into deathcore/melodic and symphonic death metal, Shadow of Intent and Angelmaker are top tier bands Spoiler Halo inspired, best album in the genre^
How do we feel about Sleep Token? I was originally pretty indifferent to them, but the more I've listened to the newest album, the more I've gotten onto them. It's probably my #1 this year at this point. I definitely couldn't have said that a couple months ago.
Didn't know them at all before this album started blowing up with the YouTube "reactors." It's fantastic though.
(deathcore) Speaking of Shadow of Intent, 3 minutes to 4:45 is one of my favorite segments from any metal song
Saw that knocked loose is playing with motionless in white. I do not know this band very well so I listened to them and they fucking suck. Am I wrong? Did I not listen to the right songs? What am I missing?
Motionless in White’s first couple albums sound like old Bleeding Through. But they evolved into kind of a butt rock version of it with a stage show and it really blew up. Don’t care for it but by all accounts they’re super cool dudes.
Also can confirm that Furnace Fest was amazing this year. Next year is the last one, go experience it and feel the joy of this community. Getting to see It Dies Today was bringing happy tears into my life
The new Spiritbox EP rages. The new Dying Wish is full blown 2000s metalcore with absolutely vicious breakdowns.
Will Putney finds the best bands in the scene and will either be a member like Better Lovers, End, and Fit For An Autopsy as well as being the most prolific producer ever in the scene
