Sunami shows are wild. Crazy how big they’ve become quickly when they started as a joke side project. If not aware, their lyrics are pretty much a satire of typical hxc beatdown lyrics.
After careful consideration, my metalcore album of the year goes to Invent Animate - Heavener. Shout out to Spiritbox - The Fear Of Fear EP for also being fantastic, but not being a full length lost it a shot at the top spot. Sleep Token - Take Me Back To Eden was my most listened to album this year, but metalcore is such a small part of what they do that I chose to omit them. Most disappointing album for me was Silent Planet - SUPERBLOOM. I loved the singles, but the rest of the album didn't do much for me. Too much of the same monotonous chuggy guitar tone for me.
Yeah they've blown the fuck up. Adding the bassist from As I Lay Dying took them to the next level for me personally.
Going to this bad boy tomorrow. This is Love, This is Murderous came out when I just dove head first into metalcore. Unearth always plays a lot of Oncoming Storm tracks, and that is pretty much the definitive metalcore album to me.
really stunk listening to that album. I appreciate it for what it is and think they poured a lot into it, but it's not the Silent Planet I love. Every one of their albums is a 9 or 10/10 for me and are some of my favorites in metalcore, Superbloom just did nothing.
Probably my favorite song so far this year. Harsh vocals are at a minimum, but the song structure and lead guitar in particular really do it for me.
oh hey it’s my friends that show hit capacity as soon as the doors opened. it was in fact a wild time
I’m a little late to Dying Wish but my god this band rules. There’s a 2023 show in Louisville where it was dying wish, kublai khan, and knocked loose and they stole the show for me. Best of the 3
Outside of Furnace and Sound & Fury, LDB in Louisville has become one of the largest hardcore festivals, and this is Furnace’s last year. Dying Wish just did a tour with Boundaries and Foreign Hands, all 3 bands are very 2000s metalcore. Boundaries and Foreign Hands have new albums coming soon, and Will Putney produced the new Foreign Hands, which is like an immediate stamp of approval.
Will see them at Sick New World and the sideshow with Lamb of God and Kublai Khan, but fucking stoked for this in the Furnace shed
ive never really been able to get into their music but the guitars here have a nice down tuned djenty sound. dont hate it.
Still about 30 more bands to announce but loving this lineup so far, great mix of 2000s and some newer stuff.
I’ve taken to watching concerts while I walk on the treadmill. Anyone have recommendations? I’ll start
Was at a show a few weeks ago and there were phones and keys and wallets flying everywhere. I’m going to create a clothing line that is flexible enough to allow you to do a front flip or spin kick but also durable enough to secure your belongings
