It depends on how much you want to spend but I'd ho with the jaybirds or the powerbeats. Everything I have read those two are the best Bluetooth workout headphones. I have the powerbeats and although I am pretty anti beats, they are great.

For headphones like that if you care most about sound quality I say the koss portapros. They looks straight out of the 80s and very uncool but the best sound you'll get for that style and amount of money.

Edit: Forgot the part about bluetooth. Can't help there, those all sound worse, I don't use them.

i'd be exclusively using them at the track/gym/etc not listening for pleasure. I'd be perfectly content with my current ~$20 crap quality ones if they were just louder and the plastic connecting piece didn't fuck with me. probably can't justify spending $150 on beats. I just don't care enough to spend that.

Well you shouldn't get most beats anyways. Some of the models are decent now but even then probably over priced. A lot of them are just not good and always expensive.

I agree except for the powerbeats which with the jaybirds are constantly ranked 1&2 among Bluetooth sports headphones.

I have some over the ear headphones that are probably five years old now and I still absolutely love them. Ultrasone HFI-580s. However, I want to find some high quality over the ear headphones that I can walk around my place listening to. Something with a respectable Bluetooth range or whatever other technology I need to capitalize on.

Hate having to stop listening to something to get up and walk into another room to do something. And since I'm currently about that apartment life I can't really (or don't want to, at least) blast music.

Huge fan of my V-Moda Crossfade wireless. Incredible sound and decent battery life and range.

I wonder if Audio Technica would make a bluetooth version of the M50, or if they've already made a comparable model.

Haven't read the thread but I'm looking for some wireless earbuds for working out. I tried the shitty soundpeats for $20 on amazon and more recently the backbeat fits from plantronics. Soundpeats wouldn't stay in my ears and while I like the backbeats a lot they kind of hurt my ears and the sound was worse than my iPhone earbuds. I'm more worried about comfort than sound. Appreciate any recs.

Depends on how you want to spend. But the jaybirds or powerbeats are the best workout Bluetooth headphones. I have the powerbeats and they are great and I am not a beats guy.

Yeah I've considered the powerbeats but the brand makes me hesitant to pull the trigger. Have you tried the jaybirds and can compare the two?

No I haven't. I was hesitant about them too but every review I read started "I know what you think about beats but . . ."

There are a couple difference relating to sound and fit so I'd read them to see which you'd prefer.

They're closed but don't have any active noise cancelling but I prefer it that way. They seal around your ear and you can't hear shit around you when you're listening to something. Highly recommend.

After much deliberation and watching about every youtube video on them, and reading every review, I ordered the crossfade wireless, as well as the XL pads, and they will be here tomorrow.

    Pretty excite.

I only saw one video where the guy didn't really like them, and he was some old audiophile that I felt was just trying to be a contrarian.

I suspected you might be referring to him. To be fair he did put it under the "stuff he likes" category which means he would be willing to recommend them. His complaints were basically the sound quality being bass heavy. So depending on the music you like or sound signature you prefer this may not bother you. Just know this guy really knows what he's talking about.

I don't even know what that means. Is he assuming that younger people prefer heavier than normal bass?

From what I've read, V-moda in general has more of a U-shaped sound profile with higher lows and highs, and lower mids.

Anyone have a suggestion for a wireless office headset? I'm currently using this logitech for video and soft phone but need my jabra for the hardline. The poblem I'm having with both is that when I play music, other people can hear and know I'm not on a call :ohdear:

yeah younger people and non-audiophiles often prefer a "fun" headphone like the vmodas

yeah everything vmoda makes has zero midrange and a slightly rolled off treble, but that doesnt necessarily matter for many popular genres

Of course they do. I think newer music also just benefits from a bass heavy sound profile more than older/more natural music.

Yeah honestly, it's been shown to produce very small differences. Most of the effect is due to your brain adjusting to any new pair of headphones. This will happen naturally and cannot be accelerated.

Big drop coming up on massdrop this week. Their first collaboration with Sennheiser. They basically made a custom HD-650 and they are selling it for $199!!! Sound profile is supposed to be the same as the HD-650. Major changes are cosmetics and a 6' (not 10) detachable cable with an 1/8 in. jack. 13,000 users have requested these so make sure to get in on them very early on the 8th. Drop starts at 9AM EST.

    https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-sennheiser-hd6xx

This is definitely the drop to get in on if you don't own a pair of 600-800's. The price is unbeatable. I have the 600's and they are one of my two favorite. Caution...they are open so not for public listening.

Also, I went a little crazy and got in on this drop. Very similar to the Fostex/Denon cans and based on the same setup, but a different sound signature. Impulsive $500 buy. They get the best reviews among any of the headphones based upon this setup.
