How is this even possible? I only eat two meals a day and hit 200 grams pretty easily. If your eating 3 meals: Breakfast - 2 eggs and some egg whites Lunch - 6 ounce chicken dinner - 6 ounce lean hamburger 2 scopes of protein shake That's in the upper 100's for protein, not to mention you'll get some with common carb options like pasta for example.
That would probably make me cry, but damn if it wouldn't feel good afterwards. A little too much for me to shell out but that thing looks sweet.
I will report back. I have been told by doctors that I have "frighteningly tight" hamstrings, so this will be interesting.
Really don't understand how so many people hate cardio. It's a bitch to get into but it makes me feel so much better/healthier than lifting does. Also gonna try that egg/avocado salad thingy tonight. How much mustard should I be putting in? Like, a big-ass scoop or just a little bit?
mustard not necessary but could be good in it. I used to just do salt and pepper and it was great. sometimes I added some ground turkey or shredded chicken if I wanted it to be a full meal
God this looks wonderful. My damn calfs are too big/get too tight when doing cardio. I have to get massages often just to be able to have more flexibility.
Gym had a body comp station setup today 5'11" 189 13.2%BF Easily was in the 200 @ 25% neighborhood this time last year. Lot stronger and one less chin now. Leave for the beach in 3 weeks. Time to ramp it up and see single digit BF. #obliques #abs #shred #blessed
Do you try to hit your carbs macro? How much is it? And can anybody recommend a good protein to cram? I'm trying to lose weight. First 30 came off easily and now I hover b/w 190-195 but am pretty active and need energy and my current diet (chx breast + quinoa + veggies for lunch and chx breast + veggies for dinner, with handfuls of almonds & fruit in between doesn't give me enough energy )
Yesterday I had 273p/145c/39f That's the ballpark I'm shooting for the next few weeks... maybe scale back brotein a tad to try and cut a few more cals and get down to 185, but keep the c/f around there. Maybe 1-2 days a week I'll attempt to Do high fat - low carb days but you just don't get to eat enough damn food when you go high fat. Get full as hell off of Power Tacos: ground turkey, black/refried beans, brown rice, tomatoes. 3 of them had me stuffed and was only 860cal per MFP and I was diligent with portion logging
GF and I made this on Friday night. It's been keeping me full one meal a day ever since, and I'm still not tired of it. Subbed Trader Joes Quinoa pasta for the pasta and used 95/5 ground beef. Also halved the amount of corn because I told her corn isn't a damn vegetable. http://damndelicious.net/2014/08/04/one-pot-taco-pasta/
I would be concerned with doing that low of fat for an extended period. I know for me going under 50-60 grams I start to feel the effects. The most notable is libido slowing down, don't want any part of that. Also, why do you have your protein so high? Most nutritionist these days would say your almost certainly good at 1 gram per pound of weight, some even go a fare amount lower. I know Alan Aragon, who is considered to be one of the leading researchers in this field has those recommendations.
How much do you weigh? I looked at a macro calculator for 190 lbs and it recommends wayyy too many carbs (270 I think). I want to have decent energy and get to 180 and from 190 right now for the last couple if months, I feel like that should be pretty doable.
the 1-2 days a week that I do high fat/low carb I'm getting ~75-80g fat. Re: Protein. I'm pretty much following Craig Capurso's 30 days out competition prep program to a T. it has daily macro splits / workouts. Protein is 1.5x body weight. I don't really question it because I'm only doing it for 30 days anyways and I've seen good results. Not gonna bother me if science says I'm pissing out half of that protein before it touches any muscles
Your thoughts on coconut water and if you are pro coconut water, what coconut water should I get? Does it all taste like water infused with pistachios.
I never looked at that before but a quick calculator online days 2250-2450, and I'm well below that 5 days/week
So the whole point is caffeine and some fat? Why not just have a cup of normal coffee and cook your breakfast with some olive oil?
There are so many variables to consider that those things can never be completely accurate. That's why when anyone I know personally is trying to lose weight I have them find their maintenance calories using something like myfitnesspal, then you have somewhere to go from there and knowing that your are being accurate. Maybe you have put this on here and I missed it but what kind of calories/macros are you on now, and how much weight are you losing a week?
I liked piracetam before the FDA dropped the hammer on it. Could have been placebo. Now I just fish oil, Alpha-GPC, Caffeine+Theanine, and the occasional Aniracetam if work is stressful.
how much do you all spend a week on food - counting going out to eat too I average about $160 - eat out 5/21 meals I need to meal plan better and cut down on going out to eat
butter coffee just keeps you full until lunch (it does taste pretty good with the coconut oil) and if anyone tells you anything different they are trying to sell you something i do it on occasion when i know that i wont have time for lunch but it doesnt impart any other benefits
*when trying to actually live health eat out between 4-5 meals giant bag of Lundberg brown rice from Costco lasts me ~2 months which is like $30 weekly purchases probably average $65-75.
Tigers, how is Soylent? How have you been using it? Mission corn tortillas are 2 for 100 calories and they have thin corn tortillas that I believe are 3 for 120 calories. They are probably smaller than the artisan ones... more of a taco tortilla rather than a burrito. But the corn ones are my goto.
if i am really good about sticking to the weekly menu and get cheaper stuff at ethnic grocers, $100 a week for groceries and maybe $80 eating out if we do sunday brunch
So basically after not ever watching what I ate, just got active and ate "better" and was pretty unfamiliar with macros until this thread. I've been stagnant for a month + now and it's with eating well 5 nights a week- meaning (per my myfitness logs) 1750 cals at 21% cals from carbs, 37% from fat 42% from protein. Lift and cardio 4x a week and a total slob on the weekends.
I guess the amount isn't so much the problem as is the sum of preparation time, variety and appetite.
Usually spend $100, +/- $25 every Sunday at Whole Foods/Fresh Market because I can be a huge food cunt. This gets me breakfast 5-6x/week, dinner from Sunday-Wednesday (sometimes Thurs night), and lunch Monday-Wednesday (sometimes Thurs). Go out with the rest of the office for lunch Friday and sometimes Thurs, usually get a good meal and beers Thurs OR Fri night. Weekends I usually spend my entire grocery budget on 2 or 3 meals because I have no self control once I catch a buzz. $100 for groceries, $20 for Thurs and Fri lunch, $30 for Thurs/Fri dinner, and usually around $100 for weekend meals. So I guess that comes out to around $200-250/week.
My bones and joints have been popping a shitload lately. They're not sore, and they don't even have any pain when they do pop, but they're very 'audible,' if that makes sense. Literally sounds like I'm popping my knuckles but it's in my knees/hips/shoulders/elbows. One of my knees has undergone 3 reconstructive surgeries, and can sound like bubble wrap. But I don't really know what's going on with the others. Do I have Ebolaids?
