had to get measured for a tux for a wedding next month. new employee at MW shadowing the guy measuring me. slightly homoerotic comment by the measurer about my chest to waist ratio. was both unsettling and satisfying. ensuing back and forth between them and girl behind the counter about the ratio being indicative of attractiveness to females. 32:44 scores well on the official V-shape scale. been drinking a little too often lately because of dating. need to to settle down for a couple weeks before football season starts and all hell breaks loose
Anybody got any advice or tips for cutting sodas out of my diet? My Diet Coke habit has gotten out of control lately.
I've never been a big soda drinker but pretty much all I drink at home is La Croix and Trader Joe's mineral water.
been slacking for 3 weeks. need to get health back. thanksgiving to NYE is death to healthy life. gonna try to make it through unscathed this year
Been getting into some healthy shit lately. Drinking tea is pretty dope. Got a meditation app on my phone called Stop Think Breathe and that feels pretty good. Been doing more cardio for exercise and not just lifting. Oh and prob what makes you feel the absolute best, getting enough sleep at night
Is tea not that popular in the US or something? Seems like I always see posts where people are drinking it for the first time and stuff.
Our country's founding events include tossing a bunch of tea in Boston Harbor, so an affinity for tea is not something we come by naturally. In seriousness, I enjoy hot tea (iced tea is very common here). I have a friend who started getting into Chinese style teas, and he did a tasting flight with me one time... he had this stuff that you'd steep for like 10 seconds then pour into small cups, and you'd steep the leaves multiple times before discarding and each time the flavors became more pronounced. It tasted kind of like grass, so it had to be healthy.
Yeah I'm from the south so I had plenty of sweet, iced tea growing up. Not much health benefit in that though. I was saying I recently got more into the hot/unsweetened variety
depends on if you're talking about #basic lipton or good hot tea varieties. as TC mentioned it's popular in the south but that's mostly the lipton shit you get at restaurants that brew in the big tubs. Hot tea in the south isn't really a thing.
I knew tea had antioxidants in it which were good for preventing disease and such but learned recently it has this shit called L-Theanine that improves your memory. So that's rad. I bought some ginseng extract supplements too for the same purpose. If anyone is interested in learning more about "nootropics", supplements/drugs that supposedly improve your memory/mental functioning: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/ (FAQ here: https://www.reddit.com/r/nootropics/wiki/faq)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_tea_consumption_per_capita Looks like we are #69 in the world on tea consumption per capita
got goggles and a leg buoy from amazon a couple weeks ago. gonna start doing that as my morning workout when busy season is over. heated-apartment-pool smug
It's unbelievable, fam. Freestyle is just a perfect total body workout and seems like the best things I've found for the core. Combine with yoga+weights AND that V game will be real
Whats everyone's preferred tea and thoughts on putting a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water
Just crushed a whole bucket of Walmart Hot and Spicy chicken. I likely have to have shoulder surgery with torn ligaments above and below the glenoid labrum. Gonna get so damn fat.
Yesterday i ate 3 Waffles with blueberry syrup for breakfast (they were nutrigrain though) 3 hot dogs (no buns), some better cheddars crackers, finished about half a quart of raspberry cheesecake Gelato, some mint chocolate chip halo top, a banana, a chicken breast and kraft mac and cheese, a bowl of apple jacks, a Granola bar. I think that's it. I was hungover okay
Bout to have half a bottle of wine and half a pizza. Its ok since i only had an egg for bfast and some hummus for lunch
after a month of eating like shit, drinking heavily and being sick for a week and a half back on the health train this week. going back to IF, yoga, meal prep, and cutting back on booze. No holiday 15 this year #MakeAbsGreatAgain
Doing pretty well during the week this football season. Eating healthy, workout every day, and limited to no booze. Friday and Saturday?
for the most part this summer as long as sunday was just a liquid diet of OJ and champagne/prosecco and then a healthy sunday dinner - maintenance levels were achieved. basically 24 hour cheat starts at 6pm friday - 6pm saturday and then it's back to business. mostly because day drinking wipes me out on saturdays getting piss drunk by 3pm but the sunday is key. either wake up and order a favor of 5 tacos / 2800 calories of tacos while laying in bed, or go to brunch and just drink a low calorie cocktail
So, I've gone a little overboard the last two months with exercise and lost 18 pounds. Didn't even realize it until last night because I haven't weighed myself since like September or so. Went from 6'2 190 to 172. Need to track my calories and up my protein or I'll be too cut and the gays will be all over me and user bertwing is the most jealous queen I've ever been with so that's not a good recipe
Abs and foam roller today. That came in between a couple of orange rolls and breakfast tacos for breakfast and a couple of pulled pork sandwiches and drinks later for dinner. Did hit the gym 5 times this week.
I don't think I could get the protein necessary to fit macros without at least 2-3 whey scoops a day... and still be eating really clean. If I'm eating a bunch of foods with high fat and sugar then I can hit 2600cal with ease. but to stay around 185-190 and be in that good abs and vascular shape I have to do high protein/carbs and low fat. 260p/260c/60f most of the time. Eating 260g of protein is a lot. I've read all the "that's too much protein anything more than ____ is too much!!!" shit and there's just as many articles saying the opposite. Those numbers work for me personally and that's all that matters - but to get the protein there I average 4 scoops of whey a day. And it kinda makes it easy to do the "reduce cals on rest days" factor just cut out 3 scoops of protein and only have the 1 in my morning coffee. Cuts out 360 calories.
Yeah, there's no way to get to 2800 calories/day in a healthy fashion without going well over the macro recommendation for protein. At like 145g, which it recommends for me, I'm at 2200 calories.
Heavily considering doing a 30 day juicing diet/fast starting in Monday. Allowing 1 cheat day a week with this being holiday season but every other meal coming from juicing or smoothies. Talk to me peeps that have done this. Motivations are to detox, head off extremely unhealthy holiday eating patterns and also I have minor knee scoping at the end of the month that will keep me off of my feet.
